Need TIG welder with pulse, what would you recomend?

The primeweld 325 has better low amp function than the 225. Primeweld says down to 10 amps.

Masterforce are decent, I would say no better or worse than US general which are built pretty decent

    ESAB, Yeswelders

Primeweld doesnt offer an AC-DC multi process machine. They offer the excellent 225 and 325 AC-dc tig machines but the multi process machines are dc only. I'm aware of AC-DC multi process machines but those are also limited in amps, duty cycle and some other features that process specific...

    ESAB, Yeswelders

The majority of multi process welders are really mig welders that do a decent job with stick and marginal dc tig welding. Usually no pedal or fingertip amp control, lift arc start and no gas solenoid so a torch with a valve is needed. In my experience esab is priced right up there with Lincoln...

12 pt sockets, what sizes do you find yourself using

Occasional 10,12, and 13 mm on drive lines. 1)4" drive 1/4" 5/16" and 3)8" for cap screws on hydraulic orbit motors. 5/16" thru 1" 3)8" drive on n-14 Cummins and 7/16"-1-1/4" in half inch drive largest 12 point head I've come across has been 7/8". Older Detroit and Cummins head bolts were I...

    Multimeter

I use a Klein AC-DC clamp meter rated for 800 amps. Let's me test amp draw on the large gauge wiring used on large trucks and heavy equipment. I bought a magnetic tether that works good to hang the meter when checking multiple circuits in a fuse panel or junction box. Most of the time I'm just...

    Icon Tools

It always helps to be smarter than the tool your using. If the part to be pressed doesn't move with reasonable force, something is wrong. For all we know a 1" drive impact could have been involved.

1/2” G style air couple with 3/8” male pipe thread?

That doesn't make not using them safer.

1/2” G style air couple with 3/8” male pipe thread?

On bigger,( 3/4" and 1" drive) you should be running a whip hose anyway. The pounding on the big impacts tends to break the male coupler plugs at the threads. When that happens you have a hose with a coupler flying around ready to hit you in the head

    (A) Hobart 210 MVP or (B) Lincoln 211i. A or B, there is no option C in this case.

When a 4,000$ welder craps out a month after warranty and it's 3,500$ to repair does that still give you a better feeling when a comparable powered 1,000$ machine craps out a month after warranty? I've owned and still own some miller machines but I wouldn't buy them anymore at least not new...

What are the different types of clamps you should have for various work?

11r or 11sp vise grips, 12" bessey style F clamps and 4 and 6" C clamps are most commonly used . Longer length F clamps and big *** bridge clamps when your dealing with larger work or really need clamping pressure.

HF US General series 3 question....

Im sure they say no side box is a safety thing. A loaded side cab on an empty rollaway could be really tippy. The holes to fasten the side box or locker might not be drilled on the 26".

Extra long flex head ratchet box wrenches

I have the matco set of fixed box end and ratcheting flex head. Never an issue. Recently bought the gear wrench set the OP posted for my road box. The gear wrench are actually nicer because they went to a higher number of teeth. What I like about this style over the double flex box is the fixed...

    3/8 impact tool strategy

I use a snap on 3/8" air quite a bit. My main use for the 3/8" is with a 15/16" socket to change out alternator pulleys where I'm usually away from using air . The cordless will break away most 12 mm or 1/2" bolts, but usually if I have a fair amount I use 1/2" drive

    3/8 impact tool strategy

I didn't miss anything. You asked what we were using for 3/8" guns, ( which isn't a " gun" but an impact wrench).

    3/8 impact tool strategy

I use the 20v DeWalt atomic. Supposedly 400 or so breakaway torque. Nice and compact and lightweight. As for torque ratings I believe if you cut the ratings in half that's a realistic number
