Snap ring size for 3/8 Craftsmen ratchet 43784

I can't help you with the snap ring, but I can share a tip for how I assemble smaller parts/tools/? with parts like small springs, snap rings, etc. I have a see-through plastic bag that is big enough for a part like yours and my two hands, and I do the assembly inside the bag in case something...

    Drill press vises?

While I have two vices like those shown previously, I tend to use my cross-slide drill press vise the most. I keep it bolted to my drill press table since I use it a lot. Very handy to have for precise drilling.

    Unusual Vandoren Hammer.

It makes it easier to pull nails back out in my opinion. I use a 22 oz. California framer that has a fairly straight head and it does not pull nails anywhere near as easily as my 16 oz. framer with a curved head like yours above.

I am not familiar with the R & VDM jack, but I have had the 1-1/2 ton version of the Japanese-made Craftsman jack since purchasing it from Sears in the mid-late 70s. My usage is pretty much like yours. Over those almost 50 years, it has never failed, I have never had to replace any parts, nor...

Another "What is this tool used for?" question

This came out of a box of tools that I got at an estate auction. The only marking is "VIM" on the rectangular piece. Alloy Artifacts says the Vim Tool Co. has been around since 1931 and made specialty automotive tools. I'm curious about what this tool is used for. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

J H Williams vintage hand tools

I found this adjustable spanner from J. H. Williams Co. in a box of tools that I picked up at an estate sale. I've done some research on Alloy Artifacts and searched here and this one seems unusual in a couple of ways, and I was hoping that the Williams collectors could shed some light on it...
