    Bevel on Jigsaw

To be honest I totally forgot jig saws had that option until I was looking at them today.

    Bevel on Jigsaw

Is this a commonly used thing on a jigsaw? Looking at the two of the newer Bosch 18V jigsaws and I can't figure why they gave bevel to one but not the other.

    Zoro Deals Thread

I don't look at the return address that often but I feel like almost every Zoro purchase I make ships from either California, Nevada, or Arizona. Probably them optimizing logistics, but yeah it never results in me waiting more than a day or two.

    Zoro Deals Thread

It depends. If the item is something Grainger typically stocks, you'll usually get it in a day or two. At least that's been my experience in Phoenix. These items are often marked "Ships in 1 business day," and they tend to arrive quickly, even with the slowest shipping option. On the other...

    Let's Talk Flare Nut Wrenches!

What absolute MUST sizes do you all look for in SAE and metric sets? Mostly would be plumbing/HVAC and automotive use but I'm finding a lot of "missing" sizes from sets I have.

What in the China is this ****?

Looks like an auction staple. Damaged perhaps in transit and it's cheaper to just sell them at auction? That would be my guess. Once inspected state side, what else would you do with it? https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/ritchie-brothers-auction-tool-box-benches.307774/

Which cordless tool brand is going to have the longest production life?

I use both and it really depends on your application. If I was going thru concrete or metal on a daily basis I'd probably stick with the M18 but at home where its all gypsum and wood, the M12 Fuel tears through it.

Which cordless tool brand is going to have the longest production life?

I can't believe that either. NiCd at least in the United States has become a recycling nightmare and the EU is effectively banning sales later this year for good.

    Snap-On EVAP Smoke Machine

Isn't that unit made by CPS? I think this manual will probably help out.

    Thor

Probably the early 1950s based on the literature I was able to find.

Thread locker/sealant for oil drain extension

I'm looking at them from a specification sheet perspective and I think they're more in common than different. Should be fine either way.

Thread locker/sealant for oil drain extension

These are different types of applications. Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealant is a thread locker with sealing properties, ideal for situations where the assembly is not meant to be taken apart. In contrast, the aviation sealant is better suited for components that will be disassembled and...

Thread locker/sealant for oil drain extension

I'd use Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealant.

    Anyone familiar with gate openers?

Good question. I don't think it should cause an issue but I've always made sure they were plenty away from the actual gate by a significant margin to avoid the old ladder under the gate trick.

    Anyone familiar with gate openers?

Yup. You basically would just run it thru conduit next to the driveway and bury the puck next to the driveway. Way easier than messing with exit loops for residential applications.

    Knurled extensions (black finish)

Those exist? Honestly I'm not a fan of knurling on black oxide. Always seemed too easy to get sweat in but not out causing that area to rust (short of dumping the whole tool in oil).

    Anyone familiar with gate openers?

They work well if close to the actual driveway. 5 mph is when you have it positioned quite a distance away from the vehicle.

    Craftsman garage door opener sensors

Nope. The signal changes between brands & generations. Sometimes you get lucky.
