A Craftsman What Is It Post

Yes it is your typical almost useless Craigslist ad with not nearly enough info. But it is also something I don't recognize. :headscrat The ad says" "It's missing the motor but the blade is still sharp. It is belt driven." If it is a "lathe" it seems to be missing more than the motor...

    Zoning for standalone garage

This should be a good option too. The comm building could be an investment too. IF need be you could create a dummy LLC, and the "business" could be storage. Only city issue might be the fuel in the cars. Check insurance on this too.

    Zoning for standalone garage

I think you are building a "barn" in ag land.

Home Depot ships Grizzly and Jet

On the shipping: I wonder if someone forgot to put 'Except Alaska and Hawaii' on the site. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get there. What is the cheapest type of transport to AK, ship or rail?

Tire flat spot prevention during storage?

If not on jack stands (#1 option) then I inflate them to just about their max pressure as indicated on the tire.

Ryobi one+ worth upgrading to LiOn batteries (particularly after market)?

I have a lot of the older (dark blue) Ryobi 18v tools and they all have work beautifully. So over the last 5-ish I've picked up some used Ryobi Li-On batteries via eBay. I haven't had any problems with them. I've avoided the aftermarket ones.

Torx, Torx+, Etorx, Etorx+, spline, ribe, xzn, triple square, tamper proof torx, etc

I recently picked up a bit set of "tamper proof" torx off eBay. Thing is how "tamper proof" is it really if anyone can get the tools to work on them?

    Interconnected smoke alarms

I can see situations where having all the alarms going off might confuse people trying to get away from the noise (smoke/fire) and either hesitate or run the wrong way. As pointed out above in a larger house that might not be as much of a problem.

    Painting OSB

I rolled a couple coats of Kilz on mine. A third coat would have helped make it "brighter".

    Brahma Boots Quality and/or Value?

I need a pair of general (hiking, garage, yard, semi-daily) usage boots. I was in Wal-Zoo the other day and saw their Brahma boot display. There is a model (Brock) that looks like it fits what I’m looking for and fits into my budget for them. I already have a pair of steel toe boots so for this...

    Outlet wiring question

The latest tests are attached. The most current reading as in the bold squares. I plugged in a circular saw and the outlets seem to work as they should. As mentioned I checked 4 other outlets with the plug in tester and it read correctly on all of them. But on the well house outlets it reads...

    Outlet wiring question

I checked 4 other outlets with the plug in tester, 1 in the garage, 3 in the house all tested good (2 green lights). Its going to be Sunday earliest before I can work on the well house again.

    Outlet wiring question

Since these outlets worked I thought all of them here were good. I'll check it. I'll retest things tomorrow. Thank you

    Outlet wiring question

Actually you just un-confused me. The outlets down the line were originally wired wrong via the first outlet. So now it is correct. But, why does the tester read "open hot".

    Outlet wiring question

After some delays due to weather, work and other things I finally got back to this. I did some of the cleanup of the wiring for the outlet circuit (put the wire coming out of the subpanel in conduit, rerouted it and eliminated an unnecessary outlet). I then wired in a GFCI outlet as the first...
