    Vinyl Plank Flooring?

I did our place with no transitions and its very very difficult to get right. there are a couple of problems if you are even slightly off going across a room your joints will look strange at the doorways. You also need to leave space for expansion and contraction and going continuous from room...

Garage floor joists - sealing openings

Rigid insulation with the perimeter foamed in with Great stuff will make an excellent air vapor barrier. It's what I used on the rim joists in my basement and it's as effect as sprayfoam insulation but its an easy DIY approach.

    Newbie questions about drawer construction

The filing cabinet might work for you but it depends what you are storing in them. I use them at work but I find them flimsy and the slides start to jam up after a while. Anything heavy in the drawers will be an issue.

    LVL beam for garage.

Im not a structural guy but from the looks of your photo's I suspect that you may be correct- but it depends on the size of your joists and rafters (cant tell from the photo) I'm going through a similar exercise on my 18x18 garage its framed in a similar manor to yours (joists and rafters are...

First time working with concrete...success!!! I think...

Next time place the bars on pieces of brick. The bars likely settled down to the bottom but I wouldn't be that concerned about it there's not going to be much load on your pad it's going to outlast you.

    Newbie questions about drawer construction

I agree with the tracksaw comments and lucky you for getting the makita. I bought a Chinese made Wen tracksaw and that thing makes working on sheet goods so much easier.

Nice finish for a first timer! It might have been put in later you took the photos but rebar is normally placed on stools or bricks to lift it off the bottom of the slab. Also I cant tell if you wire tied the bars to each other?

    Got Rust?

I love this forum. I now have a few more options to try out, while I continue to seal up the old place. 1) Use the dehumidifier even in the leaky old building 2) Get a box fan 3) Buy some fluid film and some Maxfilm - both less expensive than some of the others I've tried (yes I have tried...

    Got Rust?

Ok some background first: My 100 year old stand alone garage is leaky as a sieve. It's a work in progress. I have insulated one and a half of the walls with rigid insulation and sprayfoam around the edges and I've put up OSB on one wall but I still have a lot of work to do and its taken me a...
