Old gas cans...am I going to kill myself?

We have a few of these from Summit or Jegs when we drag raced. They're not expensive, don't leak and with a big funnel fill a mower or tractor in 2 minutes. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk

    What is it?

Yes. Elephants name was Topsy, supposedly killed a trainer. The 1903 video is on YouTube. Watch "Strange Heartland History: Did Thomas Edison Really Fry an Elephant with Electricity?" on YouTube Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk

Old gas cans...am I going to kill myself?

I ordered caps and spouts from eBay sellers. Caps seal off the can, spouts are the old style. Store in an old shed I have that has lots of ventilation and gravel "floor". Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk

My pvc pipe furnace vent termination is filled with rocks!

I know it's close quarters, and I'm not an HVAC tech, but wonder if you could disconnect it close to furnace, hacksaw it if you have to. Then get rocks out, hopefully they didn't go all way into furnace. With pipe out and helper it shouldn't be too hard vacuuming them out, or rapping on pipe, or...

It’s a long shot. Info on a carriage house light

Maybe the application would be helpful? I just had a horse stable built and thought I'd install expensive lighting. Then I got over that idea and put up vapor proof lights and conduit. Function not beauty. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk

Odd grease guns & oil spouts

Here it is. It took lots of cleaning but "Balcrank" I believe. It has grease in it and still works. My guess is it hasn't been used in 60 years at least. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk

It’s a long shot. Info on a carriage house light

That's the Breakers Stable and Carriage House in Newport RI, right? You could call and ask them. The price would be amazing I'm sure! There are lighting fabricators, there's this one not far from me... https://www.jeffersonlighting.com/ With pictures and dimensions they could make them. Sent...

Odd grease guns & oil spouts

I got these today from homeplace. The oldest you turn handle to grease, one you push. The spouts one seems odd since it's small. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk

    Stuck on a project

I would think metal would be better. A table saw to me looks like it would be ideal, you'd have the fence guide. I would think you could get one cheap, a bad motor, etc. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk

    Underground wire tracer/detector

I must have been lucky! Maybe it depends on your state, I'm in Virginia. About a year ago I called Miss Utility twice. They never showed up and my backhoe snagged a large phone line. It looked like the ground puked spaghetti. Verizon fixed it no charge since I had called. This was years ago...

    Underground wire tracer/detector

Call Miss Utility? Especially if it's new property. Some years ago I had them here and they marked a buried cable. I asked the guy if he could mark others...then handed him $20. He marked everything. I took lots of pictures after he left with measurements off of buildings so I'd know. Sent from...

    Negative pressure chemical storage cabinet

Computers have what we called boxer fans, about 5" square. They're quiet and can move a fair amount of air (All different cfm ranges). I put one in the house in a closet that was musty...it shoots air out into the crawl space vented outdoors. If I was building a new garage I sure would think...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Certainly nothing "thrilling", and I already have a contractor wheelbarrow, but I just got this one from Ace hardware, a new Ace less than 10 minutes away. With $5 coupon and tax $33! Not heavy duty, but moving tool, carrying 100# feed, etc. It does have a pneumatic tire. Hard to beat for $33...

Purchased property, what to do first?

This is where tack room will be. Concrete has a brush finish except this 12ft x 12ft area smooth finish. Right above window is 8ft so I want to make a loft above. Posts are all 6x6. OSB scraps on wall I put there temporarily (spacing) so conduit will be along one wall. I insulated behind OSB...

Purchased property, what to do first?

Purchased property, what to do first?

I'm getting ready to build an insulated tack room in a horse stable. It's a pole barn construction. So starting from outside metal, should it be in this order: metal, insulation to 2x4 studs, vapor barrier, OSB walls? Or would it be better since metal is corrugated (now looking down walls from...

Purchased property, what to do first?

One very important word of advice applicable here is years ago I had a nice garage built...couldn't wait to move the cars and things in which was a huge mistake. Then I had to try working around things in the way. Now is the time to insulate if ever. OSB isn't expensive and works well for walls...
