    First off I'm a Plumber not an electrician,I want to run a 4500 watt water heater element on a 220/20 amp circuit.Am I pushing it with 18.75 amps on the circuit,it won't be 4500 watts all the time it gets dialed down after an hour or so with a controller to probably 1500-2500 watts.

    Take wire hardware cloth from the bottom of the sheathing down 18"-24" and then out horizontally the same distance,backfill it then.I did this to mine to keep skunks and woodchucks out and haven't had a problem in 5 years,no matter which way they dig they hit the cloth and give up.
