Old Barn to Become my Shop

Started building some storage. This is 96"x48"x24" which still leaves room to stack boxes on top. I need to build at least 2 more of these and add doors as well.

    Liftgate Service Fee

I had some playground equipment delivered by truck. I have fork tines for my front end loader so I was not overly concerned about getting it off the back of the truck. When the truck arrived, Driver says: "You will need to give me a hand moving this to the back of the trailer". There were 3 x...

Cabinet for Small Parts Storage Cases

Older thread but make sure you check each of the HF cases for cracks (especially the corners) before leaving the store. I had 2 of 6 that had apparently fallen off the shelf and were cracked. Luckily I noticed before I took them to the checkstand.

Retractable air hose reels for new compressor

HarborFreight 50 footer here. Red rubber hose started cracking within 5 years. Reel was in a non heated garage where inside temps would hit close to zero in winter so it was likely cold checking. I switched to the green Harborfreight hybrid hose and haven't had a problem since. If I could find...

    LED's/ T5's -- my eyes!

In my previous garage the ceiling height was only 8' and I had 8' double tube T12s, Big box 4' T8s and a 4 tube T5 over the work bench. As the garage was NOT heated and often experienced sub zero temps inside the T12s were nearly worthless in winter. The T8s were only marginally better at start...

Primer for OSB type composite trim - Smartside

I first used smart side trim on my house nearly 3 years ago. Like you, I had to rip a few pieces and I used KILZ oil based primer followed by latex color. I had pieces on the ground by the garage all winter that showed no signs of swelling on the bare cut ends the following spring. I just used...

It's not a SORTIMO, but check out my parts cabinet I made!

I built one of these from an old server tower my son had kicking around. The HF trays do sag in the middle for me; mostly the ones with nuts and bolts. I am still very happy with it though as it is much easier for me to find stuff than searching through coffee cans.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Replaced the high pressure sensor/switch in the AC line on the Caddy. It is nice to have cold air in the car again (now that summer is over)

40x60 with Apartment - Floor Plan Review

It looks like the lower shop has stairs in the corner going up but the upper apartment does not indicate where the stairs are.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Started building cabinets for the barn. 4'x8'x2' and will have doors later. I just have to get a few more built so I can get stuff put away and find it later.

Cabinet for Small Parts Storage Cases

I built my cabinet from a surplus server rack. It uses HF boxes and is two sided so that I have a stack of boxes on the front and the back. (Still haven't filled the back side yet). I have had it now for nearly two years and the heavier ones are definitely sagging in the middle. They sag...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Assembled my new pellet smoker. My Dear Wife has wanted a smoker for a few years and I kept saying I would build one when I got a shop (besides the garage) to work in. Well after buying the old barn and house I no longer have time for "extras" so she said "Let's just buy one"

I would suspect it was a "Door Push" from the 30's 40's.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Pressure washed the straw, bird ****, dirt, etc. off the inside walls and beams of my barn/shop. What a mess but it sure was worth it.

    240V 20A extensiopn cords......

All of my 240v equipment (mill, lathe, compressor, welder, plasma torch) now have the same twist lock plugs. All the 240v outlets in my shop have the matching twist lock. The 50 foot SOOW extension cable I have matches as well. I can move any of them anywhere I need.
