Need a good BYB phone number

Here's how you raise a lift with a broken cable. If you don't know what BYB stands for, you won't have anything to contribute to the thread. Talked to a parts guy at Advantage and it appears that they do have cables, pully's and shafts that will still work on an old BYB.

Need a good BYB phone number

I bought this BYB at a Goodguys show in Scottsdale around 1998 or 1999 for $1800 and change. Pushed the up button and the cable on the right rear post broke instantly! I can push the Model A off the ramps and use the bucket on my tractor to lift the ramps so I can replace the cable(s). I can’t...

    Homemade Humble Roll-A-Round Work Bench

I did two benches similar to that one with a 4' x 6' top and 4"x4" legs. One is topped with galvanized tin. Biggest advantage is working on large projects where it's easier to walk around a project than trying to turn the project.

Backyard Buddy/Advantage Lift Bridge Jack Compatibility - Help Needed

I bought my Backyard Buddy 20+ years ago for $1800 at a Goodguys show and had one upgrade on the locking cogs. I don't have the rails that you show in the photo.

Why are Snap-On toolboxes so expensive?

The price of a Snap-On themed tool box includes royalty payments to GM, Ford, H-D, etc.

    Hydraulic Cylinder Tilt Aluma Trailer

I have a B&H(?) aluminum tilt trailer and the hydraulic cylinder is fully visible as is the pump and reservoir. In looking at the photo, I can't figure out how that even works!

Converting horse barn to a shop

When we bought our property, we built a barn/shop. After the horses were gone, converted the rest of the building to shop space. I suspect that the stalls can be dismantled and sold. Depending on the area, keeping the barn as is and building a shop might be to your advantage. BTW, I still...

What's your "cleaning a grill after been sitting in wet/damp conditions all winter" go to?

Throw the grills and flavor bars in the sand blaster.

    Pros/Cons Painting Over Spray Foam

I got a discount on my ceiling foam job because the installer brought two different colors. Part of the job is yellow and the rest is a sea foam green. So, if there are available colors, why would you have to paint it?

    PEX & Rodents

In the summer of '57, DuPont donated a bunch of PVC pipe to the Boy Scout camp and it was installed by SeaBees. Leaks started appearing every where and it was determined that rodents were the cause. Samples were sent to the factory. The following year, the SeaBees replaced the first...

4 post lift manufacturers, which to choose?

Have had my Backyard Buddy for 20 years and moved in twice. I can still get parts and accessories for it.

    Shop toilet

I'm an advocate of composting toilets. Put one in a remote cabin, house boat and in my shop. Easy installation, no permits and they work.

Let’s argue about push/connect fittings a little more

I still get a post card every once in awhile telling me I can join the sharkbite law suit. I've had two let go, one did $35,000 in damages in the basement and the other one we caught real quick in the shop. That said, I suspect that it was a small manufacturing window that created faulty...

Is this price for installation expensive for 4 post lift? $2,995.

Bought my BYB at a Goodguys show for less than $2000 years ago. Assembled it and installed myself using a tractor with a bucket and moved it again by myself using a tractor.

    Space saver

A 3/8" bolt goes through the base of the saw and through both pieces of plywood. You can see the hole in the first picture showing the lazy susan hardware.

    Space saver

I have limited space in my garage, so I use a 20” lazy Susan and a couple of pieces of 3/4” plywood. I can rotate the table saw to rip material instead of pulling it away from the wall and turning it 90 degrees.

    HF Blasting Cabinet Fixes

Drilled the 3/8"hole as per post #9 and tightened the 3/8" ID hose going into the gun and everything works great. Thanks
