Looking for lots of air on limited power

I would try tuning the blast cabinet first, like dialing down the pressure. Then add a 2nd compressor that is used while blasting. You don't need them to run at the same time while using the plasma, etc. As others of said, CFM output is pretty much a function of HP and does not really vary...

HF 60 Gal air compressor still good?

Your best bet is to go down to the store and see what they have. The better ones have only one air filter. If its got one air filter then then its dual stage as advertised. If its got multiple air filters, then its single stage even though they are calling it dual stage.

best all around drill bit set with a warranty

Drill Hog's are rebranded Norseman. They are excellent drill bits. Snap On consider drill bits a consumable. There is no warranty. MAC warranties their drill bits, all sizes.

Air Comp - magnetic starter or not?

About 2 years ago I was quoted $2,650 or so from my local compressor dealer for a Champion R-series with a TEFC motor & a standard magnetic starter. The prices have probably gone up a bit since then but you might want to look local first. The R-series is one step above the Centurion series...

HD/Lowes $499 compressor vs older Champion

I used to have Husky/Lowe's single stage & now I have two 5 HP Champion R15 compressors. There is no comparison. Dual stage cycle 145-175 and single stage typically cycle 90-125. By the time you factor in pressure drop, single stage don't cut the mustard. Use a 50' hose? That 90 psi before...

    Help ID Old Champion Compressor

With a 3 HP motor, it should be a R15 turning around 440 RPM. I double checked my manuals and apparently the only real difference between the R10/R15 is in the rods. I thought the cylinder body was shorter because of the shorter stroke but they are using the same cylinder body. My manuals do...

    Champion R15B Air pump specs?

It takes a 7" motor sheave on a 5HP 1750 RPM motor. Pump spins at 734 RPM and will make 17.3 CFM @ 175 PSI. Dual stage pumps are not typically rated at 90 PSI since they pump pretty linear through their operational range.

    Help ID Old Champion Compressor

$250 is a fair price. Looking again at the pictures on my desktop device, it looks like it may very well be a R15 which means you can adapt it to 5 or even 7.5 HP if you wanted. 5 HP is the sweet spot for R15 pumps. Champion stopped selling the R15's in 3 HP because they found they were...

    Help ID Old Champion Compressor

    It's definitely a Champion R10/R15.

    Help ID Old Champion Compressor

The pump is either a R10 or R15. We would need bore measurements or at least a ruler from the block to the top of the fins to identify it one way or another. The motor is a 3HP which is a configuration Champion no longer sells with a R15 pump. The air filter looks wonky, but is present...

strongest non-marring pry tools (nylon etc)

I can tell you that the Snap On / BOJO tools work far better than a $10-15 set from O'Reilly's!

The Snap On PBN500, PSN500, and PKN500 are made by BOJO. http://www.bojoinc.com Have a look!

    Lock ring pliers needed asap

Craftsman sells a pair for about $15-19 but I prefer the Snap On SRP2B that cost around $54. They're more stout.

    Floor jacks

I bought two of the gray HF jacks after my Blue Michelin from Sam's started leaking down after about 10 years. The HF jacks are a couple of years old now and still work fine. Not bad for $80 a piece.

    Air compressor decision

The Bel Air 216V uses the same pump as the HF, NAPA, and other brands. It's an Italian made pump. The IA 5076055 has the same pump as the DeWalt's and appears to be the same as the FS Curtis. They are Fu Sheng Chinese pumps. Fu Sheng is the "FS" in "FS Curtis" since Fu Sheng bought Curtis...

    air hose coupler help...

What's missing is that air tools are frequently rated in CFM which is some sort of industrial average rating. A die grinder that's rated 5 CFM will typically use around 17-20 SCFM. So the air drop is typically higher. Around 0.4 PSI/foot for 3/8" hose for many tools used in the automotive world.

    air hose coupler help...

Since you have a dual stage air oppressor, I think are you trying too hard. With dual stage you can crank the pressure up and run the smaller, lighter hose. 1/2" hose is for 3/4" impact wrenches and stuff like that. I run a 25' 3/8" hose and use Milton V couplers. I set the regulator at...

    BendPak Air Compressor Feedback

I'd figure its the import clone of the Saylor Beall. Eaton Air Compressor, NAPA Air compressors, etc. are other examples that use this pump.

Anyone have experience with the Carlyle 1/2" Stubby Impact Wrench?

I just looked at one this morning. It's the same as the Matco 2760. NAPA sometimes put them on sale for around $149.99-179.99.
