    New Concrete is Chalky

You can use a diamond grinder to grind down to a hard surface of concrete. As Scotty stated previously, any coating applied will eventually release if it is applied onto a chalky concrete.

    Epoxy-Coat Kit from Lowes

I would recommend purchasing a full kit and a touch up kit. This can cover up to 560 sq ft. Coverage will depend on the condition of your concrete, how porous your concrete is, and how thick the coating is applied. All of our epoxy is high gloss, but the clear coat will give you more of a high...

    prep for Epoxy-Coat

When you diamond grind, you're still going to need to rinse it with water or blow it to remove the concrete dust from grinding. Even with the vacuum attachment, you will still have concrete dust from grinding left over.

Moving machine shop equipment over epoxy?

It should have no problem standing up to that weight. If the floor was prepped correctly everything should be fine.

    Epoxy vs Acrylic Overlay flooring

Diamond grinding is the preferred preparation method, when applying epoxy coating. If you do not have a sealer on your floor, you can acid etch your floor to create a rough profile that the epoxy will bond to.

Hello All/ Flooring ..What to do?

Even though you have a rough finish to the concrete, you will always want to clean and etch the concrete if you decide to go the epoxy route. Because you have a bump at the expansion joint, you may want to just diamond grind your entire floor. This will help the bump issue, and will create a...

    Epoxy-coat review

We want to give a brief response to TBaz about the stains on his Epoxy floor. TBaz believes that the stains are caused by salt (salt stains). But, a careful analysis of his photos, show that the stains are from rust water. Our professional installers and chemists have examined the pictures that...

Rinsed epoxy-coat floor 1st time... Paint smell??

Could it be some paint on the broom you used for scrubbing? Epoxy doesn't really have a smell similar to paint, so we (Epoxy-Coat), do not know what could have produced the smell. We have never had a complaint like that. The only thing we could think of was maybe some left over paint on the...

Rinsed epoxy-coat floor 1st time... Paint smell??

Hmmmm, that is very strange. With the epoxy being fully cured, you should have no problem with cleaning the epoxy, or it producing a smell.

    Epoxy-coat prep solution

If you have a sealer on your floor, you will need to use a diamond grinder. Typically, we do not have many complaints about the acid etching solution provided with the kits. The acid we provide is Phosphoric Acid. It is similar to Muriatic Acid, but more environmentally friendly.

Whats the Best Stuff to use on a Garage Floor?

You can start putting heavy things (cars, tools boxes, floor jacks, etc.) back on the floor after 24 hours, but we highly recommend waiting 3 days, just to be sure everything is fully cured. You can visit our website www.epoxy-coat.com to look at tutorials, basecoat colors, flake colors...

Whats the Best Stuff to use on a Garage Floor?

If you decide to go with epoxy, and apply in a timely manner (not months or years apart), it should match with no problem. A good way to keep the color consistent is to buy the amount that you need to cover the whole sq ft of the garage. You can use what you need from that amount to cover 1/2...
