Plomb tool picture thread - show your stuff!

Although my Dad worked at Plomb, he had no 3/8" drive tools. He had only 1/4" and 1/2". It was a time that most people did not have enough money to get anything they didn't really need.

My latest addition from "The Bay". I got it for two reasons: It's the largest open end wrench I have; and it came from the estate of a Plomb collecting friend. The problem was that you had to buy his entire collection, which was quite extensive. It is 2 1/4", P/N 3572. Next to it is a 3/8"...

I thought so as well, but it is so uniform it's hard to believe it is from wear. Maybe someone stripped off the plating, but you'd still think there would be some evidence.

Here's one I thought was a little unusual. It has the Firestone handle without the logo, and it looks like it was always copper. One side doesn't look like it, but it's just the lighting of the picture.

    Snap-On/Blue Point Year Markings

I got this in a 1/4" box that I bought. Let me know if it is not readable enough and I will post small sections of it.

Yes, the ratchet is a 2400. The sockets are all 6-pt or 8-pt.

No. I will take some, but it will be a few days. I'm having cataract surgery tomorrow.

I'll have to dig it back out to check the number on the ratchet.

    Firestone socket set

The top picture (far right) shows a universal in the 1/2" set, and the bottom picture (center) shows a universal in the 3/8" set.

    Firestone socket set

Here's pictures of the sets in the 1948 Firestone catalog. It does look like universals were available in the 3/8" and 1/2" sets.

    Firestone socket set

Here's my Firestone sets. I'm not sure the 3/8" drive universal is Firestone, I'd have to dig it out and check. I'm missing a few 3/8" sockets.

    I've got one 5868, but it's not a pebble.
