welder setup help for dual shield welding mig

ER70S-6 would be preferable to E71T-1 on dirty material. Run your machine with what you have! S6 wires are well suited to what you're doing.

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Kwik Fab's Small Shop

I could not tell you how many times I just take Clovis ave instead of dealing with 99 heading north of Fowler. In fact, I do my best to avoid 99 between Madera and Fowler. May add 6-10 minutes, but it's worth it.

    welder repair

if one component on the board is bad, then the board is bad. there's no telling whether another part's failure caused that one, or whatever. get the code # off the machine, go to lincoln's service navigator and you should be able to find the PN for the board, if it's still available...

Snap ON WM vs Channellock WideAzz

I'm willing to bet that all the Spain COO adjustables come out of Irega's plant. I can't imagine that Spain just became the place everyone decided to set up wrench factories.

Millermatic 211 and harbor freight cart

That's the standard setup for most field and shop Maxstar machines. Get a single cylinder cart or hand truck, weld on a bracket for the welder, and you have a very handy setup. I have the same welder, and had the same HF cart. I wound up putting in supports to hold the welder over the bottom of...

Need opinions on choosing a 4½ angle grinder.

I have a lesser Makita 4.5" 7.5A and a Dewalt DWE402 11A. The DWE402 was like $75 and is a badass little grinder. I don't bother with my Makita much anymore, and all my other power tools from chop saw to cordless are Makita. Both are paddle switch - I will not own anything with a dead man's...

wife is insisting I get a chain saw, what should I get?

I was trying to decide between a lower Stihl from one of the local dealers or a Husky 435 from Orchard. Going into the local dealer to get parts for a Stihl BR600 blower, I was treated like I'm a total retard. The guy tried to sell me the wrong part twice, and pretty much refused to help me with...

    Tips for drilling metal

Slow your drill down. If you drill at high speeds, you'll weaken your drill bit, and you'll work harden the material. If your chips are purple or blue then you're going WAY too hot. Go slow, and keep it wet, as they said. Viking / Norseman 135deg drill bits are beastly, even on stainless...

Looking to buy 110v mig welder.

If you want new, get a Hobart Handler, or a Millermatic 125 Hobby. I've known [plenty of people with clones of that Eastwood 110V and have blown boards, failed drive motors, etc. They're junk. On the plus side, a board is $22. My Miller's board is likely over $500. If you want used, see if you...

    Speedglas 9002NC Weld Hood

The Jackson Truesight or Balder have similar color filtration - very clear. You can get a 4C Lincoln for less than what you're looking at, as it's in the 2450, 1840 and 3350 models. When I say better buy, I refer to viewing area for the money, as those two increase hand in hand. The view...
