This set originally belonged to a WWII vet. From what I can find being Craftsman V it is post WWII.
It looks like it was never plated. I know chromium was clamped down for Korea, did they not plate them during that period?
All this had on it was a grey coating that rubbed off easily on a...
OTC H-183 Speeder, 1/2 drive, 16 1/2 inches long. Any information?. I am guessing WWII or later. Does not seem to have any plating or protective coating I can detect. I do not find many OTC Wrenching tools, I am posting a OTC ratchet today also.
I have had this for awhile and never had any idea who the maker was.
Ran across it and decided to wire brush it some, found a faint Cornwell on it.
Looking at Alloy Artifacts and the internet I have found no reference to it. The only vintage swivel head I found was not a speeder.
Anyone...
I picked up this Diamond Edge S wrench and did a quick wire brush on it since it was crusty.
No sizes marked on it.
Has 681 for a Standard nomenclature wrench on shank.
DE Diamond Arrow on one end.
Just the letter B on the other end.
I assumed this is a 681B wrench.
However, it measures...
Picked up these slip joint pliers. No maker, just FORGED U.S.A. and K-36 in the diamond shape I usually associate with Diamond Horseshoe Company. They look like Diamond K-36 with out all of the markings. Possibly supplied for someone else by Diamond? Possibly made by someone else under...
Picked up this Shapleigh Hardware Company Flip Top Automobile Jack yesterday. Looks like what was pretty normal for late 1920's early 1930's era. Anyone know the actual time period when this was offered for sale and possibly the actual manufacturer? Thanks in advance.
Vintage Sun Portable unit. I suspect this is a unit to teach buyers how to use their machine?
Under the plexiglass has a distributer cam, Points, etc. There are spark gaps under there also. everything adjustable from outside of plexiglass. Attached timing light and probes. No tag or model...
In am not sure what this is for. I thought a Hammer Hit Cable Cutter but the anvil is cone shaped and the blade is flat edged. Some sort of crimper? Looking at how it mounts it looks like it might attach to a beam. Heavy construction tool? it has T313 and 7317A cast into it but no makers...
Came across this early T handle Wrench marked F.T.F. which I found stands for Fairmount Tool and Forge. Probably the earliest Fairmount tool I have ever run across.
Does anyone know what these thickness gauges are for? They are 1.5 inches long. The radius and slot size is the same on all of them. Why oddball thickness (.032, .059, .027, etc.)? Thanks in advance.
I do not remember ever carrying one of these around in my tool box "Just Because I Might Need It".
Herbrand No. 2410 very large wrench, I would think almost has to be a specialty wrench.
Nice made screwdriver. Cannot read all of the stamp: SB? S8? S_?. To the right of it is more stamping that is just the very bottom of possible letters. Not readable but right number of letters...may be Germany...or not.
The attached tweezer like screw driver handled tool is fairly small (3 inches long) and only has the word Patented stamped on it at a sloppy angle.
I would think it would be a screw holder for staring screws except why the L shape and the part of the L that sticks out is only 5/8 inches long...
Hi everyone, I have browsed this sight many times in the past to find and read interesting stuff, finally decided to join the fun.
The attached (I hope the images attached) Bonney wrench kind of stumps me. It just has the Bonney name with the shield between the two N's and the B in the shield...
