    hand held belt sanders

Same one I have. It sounds like Jeeps uses his far more than I do, but I haven't had any problems, and it has been well worth the $100 bill I gave for mine.

    Cheap pressure washer .. I know I know ..

Right now we fill 3 5 gallon buckets with water. One to siphon from for the Binks gun for rinse duties, one for soap water and one to rinse the wash mitts in. I have a generic hose adapter on the bathroom sink faucet with a short piece of hose to make it to the floor for bucket filling...

    Cheap pressure washer .. I know I know ..

before anyone says it I know you get what you pay for, and I know a good pressure washer is a bit costly, but i'm going to ask anyway. Is there a decent pressure washer for car wash duty in the $200 or less price range? For those that don't know me, I live in an apartment :dunno: housing...

    Tools for daughter's new apartment

Depending on her furniture situation I would say either a set of allen wrenches and or a small screw gun with some bits. 90% of the cheap furniture out there is assembled that way. Most should come with a wrench, but not all of it does. The other thing that may come in handy is a small level...

Storage ideas for keeping detail equipment CLEAN in a DIRTY shop

I hand wash in the sink. I should probably mention keeping them in the house isn't an option for me since that is technically a couple miles away. One of the few disadvantages to the retail space/apartment decision over a house.

Storage ideas for keeping detail equipment CLEAN in a DIRTY shop

Okay the obvious answer is, put it in a cabinet, and keep everything sealed, but I know there are some people on this site with some clever ideas so I figured I would see what they are. Searching yields mostly how to type threads on the detailing process. I'm not great on that either, but not...

My new home away from home

Well not really a "garage" update, but since the g/f sold her Honda and took over the Scion, I did need a new driver so I picked up this nice piece of "garage art" Lets hope it continues to spend more time out of the shop than in it though. Its much more fun that way!

    Race garages

Sort of, good clean examples still seem to demand a pretty high price on most of those models. The other problem is they are too old to easily get a loan on now, and my pocket change to Japanese Super Car retail ratio is still too far out of whack for me to buy one outright. :lol_hitti

Nice ... makes me miss that era of Japanese cars even more.

Who makes quality Semi-deeps? I do

I have a 14mm Craftsman that I cut down on my lathe. I'm not sure if it is "Snap on" length, but it worked for what I needed. I'll see if I can snap a pic of it to share.

The Complete set of Craftsman Catalogs

Maybe its the fact that ebay ruined the experience for me years ago, so I don't even think of shopping there anymore. What exactly are you talking about? What DVD and for what kind of price? So far it sounds more like something Sears should have put together and gave out to help show their...

Evapor-Rust gets an a+ with me...

I've been using the inhibitor that evapo rust offers. Not sure where to purchase it since I scored a bottle at SEMA a couple years back, but it works pretty well.

    Air Circulator

Looks good, I'll be curious to see how it works. I have recently been reading on these and seems like the general feeling is to put them higher up towards the ceiling. No real first hand experience to contribute though.

    Cleaning up the mess...

I have been working on that recently... but still have a LONG way to go... poor tote is like 350 lbs and even with two ratchet straps holding in the sides its still starting to burst.

What tools do you REALLY need duplicates of?

agree 100% Wrench wise I have a "normal" selection of SAE and Metric combos, but my work box only contains one set of each. I also have plenty of obstruction wrenches, ratcheting, double box, and double open to choose from. My other suggestion is a good selection of 1/4" drive bits and...

Where do you guys buy your car parts?

For my personal vehicles its almost always the dealer. I even prefer to buy local, if I can find one that doesn't try to screw me over. Most of the Toyota dealers in CA are about 10% higher "retail" than the rest of the country for some reason. Even still I know the dealer will have or get me...

Garage guy, but new to GJ ;)

Looks like you are well on your way to having a great space. I do have to ask though, if you are in the tooling business, does that mean a Garage Journal discount for us in the future? ;)

My new home away from home

Steal away. I don't know that its the most efficient use of space, but for easy of finding the tap you need, I wouldn't have it any other way. Removing the legs is something that will probably happen eventually. I never really thought about doing it until It started taking shape. I used a...
