Calling all Snap On history buffs....

The 1/2 sets were the "Standard" series in the 20's, hence the "S" prefix. Master sets were a specific set, not the whole series, in the beginning when these prefixes were initiated. The original "Midget" series was 9/32 drive, and carried the "M" prefix. The 1/4" drive Midget series received...

    Vintage 1942 Snap on 71-15 15" 1/2 Drive Ratchet

This is a very nice condition 1942 date coded 71-15 Ratchet. No owners markings, nice patina. Works very smoothly; I just opened it up, cleaned, inspected and lubricated it. The retaining ball on the drive end works perfectly, and the spring loaded oil fill ball at the top of the head works as...

39-45 era catalogs will get $30-70 on ebay depending on condition, but this is for average condition. Mint unissued copies would bring an unusually high premium if they came to market. the 20's era catalogs sell for a lot, but the 40's era are common. in fact, the market is not so great, a 1931...

Vintage snap on socket. Use it, or sell it?

Or offer it to one of the collectors on this site who are actually nice friendly people..... (as you can tell I'm [publicly] not his biggest fan) Honestly, you could certainly use it. These were well made, and unless you impact it or use a cheater (that would be abuse) it will not break...

Iphone 4 vs Droid vs ?

I have Verizon on a Motorola Droid and the battery life is amazing, better than anyphone I or anyone I know has ever had. I use it a LOT and at the end of the day I always have at least 45-50% batter life left. My Ipad is on AT&T 3G and anytime the service is slow on it due to AT&T's terrible...

I'm confused. Flap wheel discs: For sanding or grinding or both?

Walter makes some of the best ones. They are made in Germany. Not cheap, but they outperform the cheap ones in cut time and longevity, and wind up being a better value. I keep the 40 grit ones on hand.
