    Describing building size question ?

Usually in the construction trade listed as, Width X Length, that is how windows are called out also doors. Most pole building sites list width x length x height. The measurement is outside building not roof overhangs.

Sikaflex in saw cut control joints

I did same as Papp, taped both sides used a 1/4" backer where needed filled with Silka, it leveled into the chips. Any large chips I filled a bit more after I pulled the tape, after it's all done and things are moved in you hardly notice. The best thing is easy to sweep over the saw cuts.

    power line over garage safety...

Cool garage doors, can't tell by photo looks like it's touching the front, I'm guessing not but if it does that would be the point of concern where the insulation could rub off.

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Color is personal preference and also what your doing in the space, 4000k is fine for a lot but doing more detailed things 5000k may be better. At 13' I think 12,000L is about the Max, you will get some overpowering glare like looking at the sun especially at 5000K. A better range around 10KLumens

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Haven't seen much in the way of BF sales but you never know. One of the sites does give a discount to Garage Journal can't remember which might be Prolighting.

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Thanks Platonic, I have been looking at the Diva light 65W LHB-065W-U-50K-D10, on Beeslighting for $79. Trying to justify the $37 difference for 15 lights that's $550! Buying local also comes into play. I guess what got me was on paper the Deco looks good the L70 rating of 295K compared to the...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

That is too much 22K lumens at 10' will give you glare and with only 4 in that space you will have shadows. I have a space 24x40x10.5" tall and I'm looking at 8000 to 8500 Lumens color is 5000K Visual plan calls for 12 lights giving me about 96 FC at 30". I was going to ask Platonic about the...

    catwalk

You are going about this all wrong, you have a tunnel like opening through the webbing of the truss right? Attach a 3/16" or larger wire cable end to end, get yourself a good harness, click in and Mission Impossible it through the attic over the insulation.

Wow you keep your wife in the garage?!

    Is this code?

Then I believe that is not accessible and not code, no way for someone to know if it's up there in the attic. Should be placed in ceiling with access cover.

    Thoughts on this insulation install?

You don't need the opinions of the GJ group, even to the untrained eye you know that is a **** job. In all of those photos I don't see one piece that is actually done right, the only good thing is the 3 gang electrical box seems to be done well.

    Pour over existing slab

No reason to tear up old slab since your adding gravel on top and the old slab is not cracked.

Advice on receptacle placement. (new construction)

Your electrician should have a good idea what to do. I like to follow the same idea as code for a house, 6' apart from any obstruction and 12' max. In the area where you will be doing most of your work even 4' spacing is nice. Nice to have one by the garage door and man door.

Large Layout/Work Tables- Anyone have/use one?

This is probably overkill for what you want but it has some nice features. https://kingsfinewoodworking.com/products/extreme-torsion-box-assembly-table-and-outfeed-workbench I would use Oak or Maple for edges and slightly round the edges so it doesn't split. Guess I should say I'm not affiliated...

    Asphalt repair

I'm in the same boat I have about 210' X 14' driveway and 40'x50' parking asphalt about 25-30+ years old. Large 1-1 1/2' cracks and alligator areas, I have done the filling and Home Depot water based sealer, the last one lasted about 3 years. I had a bid last spring local guy would wash, trim...

Cost per sq foot for this type of garage?

Hard to quote stuff from Washington State to Washington DC. We are in a housing boom things 5-7 years ago were $125/sqft for a nice home now that same home selling for $200/sqft. That garage is basically a house with less finishes and walls as stated above so I would say at minimum to replace...

Best way to pull up subfloor to access ductwork?

Are you doing the 2 in the middle photo or all 3? You could cut a section of floor breaking the cut on the joists of the 2 ducts and try to slip the decking further up the duct work. Then undo the duct from below and pull the plywood off enlarge the holes for new duct and slip back over. Any...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Platonic has been the most resourceful in this area but the guy has been abused he has a life too. Others have chimed in with good results maybe they will help out. The information is in the thread but it takes days to read it some of the older posts 3-4 years are outdated as far as light...
