Anybody use Ring or Simplisafe security system on their house AND detached shop?

I bought the Ring system to try it out. Today I did a test. I put the range extender in the front of my shop (100 ft away from the base) and then put a sensor on the back door of the shop (150ft +/-) and everything seems to work. I’m actually going to use one of the standard ring door/window...

Anybody use Ring or Simplisafe security system on their house AND detached shop?

Is this in addition to their security monitoring? I am under the impression that if you do their security monitoring you get unlimited cameras? (I may be wrong, I will go back and study the fine print)

Less than 100 feet distance between the two. They share the same street address. Mesh wi-fi covers house and workshop and it is hardwired.

What Is This Box? Trying to get Access to Fiber

The covered box is right next to the above ground box. I’m pretty sure it is not electrical, as it was put in at the same time and I remember the AT&T guys working in it.

What’s a tough paint that you can brush on?

This is interesting paint. Where do you buy yours? I bought new shelf wire racks so the actual shelf beams I’m painting shouldn’t take too much of a beating.

What’s a tough paint that you can brush on?

Good point. I need to start using the shelves soon, so need them to dry fairly quickly. Anybody ever used the tractor paint and hardener at Tractor Supply? https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/majic-catalyst-hardener-clear-half-1-2-pint

Hello, I just put this 600+lb Quincy on a 4x5 concrete slab I had poured behind my workshop. Now I need to shelter it and I wanted to get some ideas. I live in an area where we have brutal summers but pretty mild the rest of the year, so it needs some air ventilation. I would like some...

    Air Compressor shed ideas/tips needed.

Welding outside - 50 amp breaker question

Hello, During electrical rough-in we ran 6 gauge wire through the back wall of the new workshop to eventually be able to weld outside or power a compressor. (I will probably build a compressor shed on the back of the building) I didn't get a chance to talk to the electricians and they are...

High bay LEDs: Ready to buy and I need some advice about lighting my workshop

Definitely want the surface mount. Thank you. Those look good and the price is good. Would the 2x4 version be worth a little extra $? Is 12 foot high enough for high bay lights?

High bay LEDs: Ready to buy and I need some advice about lighting my workshop

Thanks for the feedback. So the wall switch will turn them on,correct? And to be able to dim I need to run an extra set of wires to a separate 0-10 dimmer switch? We built the building with open trusses so it is possible to run extra wires but still not super easy now with the sheetrock. Wish...

Move electric? Trench it? Suspend the service drop?

I'm finishing my new workshop now and did this exact thing. 200 amp because my workshop is 55 feet from the pole. House is 125 feet from the pole. Glad you like it because I wasn't quite sure I wanted to do it this way but I could easily add more capacity to the workshop this way.
