    DIY Front End Alignment

I've seen some that use your phone and cameras. I haven't clicked the link yet to see what this one does. I hate to see the prices charged for an alignment on a solid rear axle vehicle. I'm really not all that concerned over caster and camber. I'm more worried about toe. I can get close with a...

Broke my brand new tubing cutter

Easy to see why they made it from plastic. Ultimately, it's cheaper. To put some sort of ball bearing in there for the detent would have added "a lot" to the cost. I work for a manufacturer, so I do understand how that works. Maybe instead of remaking the whole thing, I'll turn the socket from...

I don't know if this matters

So, is the cut not straight? It's the cut end butted up to the face of the board on the left? Do you own a sander? So much missing info

Broke my brand new tubing cutter

I used to use the checklist but got to where I hated having to get my phone to add stuff, or I would find something I needed and not have my phone handy so I would just write it on whatever was closest. Probably ought to go back to it, but generally the photo works. I could just as easily place...

    American press brake punch clamping

Thanks. For now I'm just making short punches as needed, or that's the plan. I did buy a 24" punch for general stuff. Looks like there are probably other mounting methods that might have been easier to work around but this is pretty simple so I'm not upset. I guess it didn't really occur to me...

Broke my brand new tubing cutter

I had a list on my phone, actually a picture of the written list. But I guess once I got distracted by looking for something to cut the conduit with, I forgot about it. That holex one looks a lot like the Klein. Different contours but same idea. I might look into what they offer.

I hope their standalone reamer is better than this

    Who makes good flush cutters?

Not everybody understands the differences in metal. I helped somebody who was "taught to weld" and was trying to do some artwork stuff. She could not figure out why the stainless steel spoon she found would not stick to the decorative things she had found that turned out to be made of pot metal...

Broke my brand new tubing cutter

Not as natural a feel as a standalone tool, but it wasn't bad. I would use it again. I'm leaning toward remaking the plastic part in metal so I can keep using it.

Broke my brand new tubing cutter

I have three of the real thing already. They live in the drawer next to the mill. I do use them sometimes at the house when cutting tubing. I thought it looked pretty handy to have it built into the tubing cutter though because it's one less tool I have to round up when I go do something.

Broke my brand new tubing cutter

I have a couple of them. They work but I hate them, especially the deburring thing that doesn't really

Broke my brand new tubing cutter

Mine all have plastic handles, but the working end is all metal. This one could have had a plastic body probably be okay but for the deburring tool, that part needs to be metal. I was initially very impressed with the fact that it was actual deburring tool instead of just Little triangular...

    American press brake punch clamping

Thanks! That makes sense to me. My buddy told me that as far as he knew, all the press brake tooling he had seen pushed on the tang, but that doesn't seem right to me. Glad I didn't start cutting the ram yet. Any chance of getting more pics of his all those pieces fit together? Is the shiny...

Broke my brand new tubing cutter

I needed to cut some conduit to fit in the car for the ride home from Lowe's, so I bought a new Klein cutter, then left without buying any conduit! Doh! Anyway, I did use it eventually. It works great and the shape of the knob is easier on the hand than my old one. And they use an actual...

I don't know if this matters

To mount a small belt sander to, I'm not sure I would worry too much about what I'm imagining you are describing. But your description is a little tough to follow. Are the 12" pieces each a side to a box that the sander is bolted to the top of? Are you saying the cut is not straight? I'm not...

    Who makes good flush cutters?

I guess I'm doing something wrong then, because I have some that only ever get used to cut zip ties off of my transit cases when they get to their destination. These side cutters don't shear anything. They aren't shears. They cut through copper wire the same way they cut through zip ties. I...

    Who makes good flush cutters?

I keep buying them for like $5/10 (probably not actually that cheap) on Amazon. No name stuff that cuts zip ties easily. I have a set of Milwaukee that I damaged trying to cut what I thought was copper wire but turned out not to be. So I buy the cheap ones now and when they get lost, I don't cry...

Craftsman "Free" Power Tool Battery & Charger?

Line formed? Yeah I'll just wait and buy the tools if I need them. I hate waiting in lines.
