Nope. I will, however, buy tools expecting a need. For example, I needed a semi deep 9/16 sockets for an older 350, so i bought the entire set - not just the single socket.

Wow!! I am a little more simple. If I need something and don't have it, I'll buy a set. If I lose a socket, then I will just pick up a replacement the next time I'm see the truck/store.

I like MAC's USA stuff. I just ordered a couple Spinflex ratchets - amazing ratchets. But, yea, you have to make sure you don't get stuck with something from Taiwan.

It depends on the ratchet. I like Super Lube in everything except Matco 88 which get a very light coating of Valvoline Durablend grease.

I am shocked at the amount of misinformation in this thread - even for the internet. My flare nut wrenches are stamped USA. I bought them last year. The ratchets are made in USA. The two texture grip handles are made in Taiwan so no USA stamp on them. My universal impact sockets are stamped...

I just put up a new Sears garage door opener. The tracks, tension springs, and mounting bolts were SAE; the bolts on the housing was metric. I wonder how this list will change in 10 years time.....

I have the short 60 degree offset double box end. They are made in USA. As for the quality, all my USA Matco wrenches are excellent - these are no exception.

I don't get it. Why do you care if I spend $500 on a set of wrenches?? I don't care if you spend $500 on a plasma tv, 22" rims or a stripper named 'Russell'.
