I have some off-brand version of that Fiskars I bought at a Sherwin Williams for the outbuilding cleanout--when I started, it was so packed, I couldn't drag a regular can in there, thus I hauled it in flat and popped it open. After **** went in said can, it was much easier to move around. And...

How many different SK wrench patterns are there? Yours looks exactly like my '70s SAE set, yet my 12mm and 7/16 (both old-stock from probably the '00s) look patterned after the Lectrolite wrenches with a raised panel.

    The OKnife U1 Utility Folder

I like the bit driver on my Klein utility knife, but the whole unit is just way too big and clunky as a general-purpose EDC knife. Thus, when I need a replaceable blade, I typically just carry an EAB from Gerber or a Razor Lite (the current one, I think--got it at Walmart on clearance as the...

People who buy tools they will never use

Honestly, I'd swear RoboGrips are almost the poster child of tools that people buy and then never use. I only use mine as a hand vise as backup--Cobras and especially Pliers Wrenches are better made and do the job much better. Before me, they likely went 20 years unused by my folks; and I've...

People who buy tools they will never use

I look at it this way--I buy a tool "you know, just in case" and don't need it, it's there when I need it. Chances are, when I do--it's on a weekend when the mine supply that sells good stuff is closed, or late in the evening when Harbor Freight and Lowe's are closed. If it's already in my box...

And it's got the flat spinner at the top I was looking for. My old Craftsman has just a straight handle, but I think I'll prefer the other style, as it's more like a brace drill. Looks like yet another reason for me to have these on hand. I'm currently dealing with this in my Waterloo-made...

Nice! Looks to be a bit better setup than my V20 Craftsman weed eater I rarely use as it's not really powerful. Got some work that badly needs done on the modern Frontier Rotary mower after it got loaned out for way too long by my grandmother to someone who had no business even touching it--he...

Platform for working in engine bay

This one might be a bit smaller than mine (a two step, but it seems bigger than 14" tall), but being short, it really covers my rear for the myriad of stuff I can't reach. It's also much more stable than a flimsy folding step stool, and gives me more of a work platform than my old metal milk...

I have found a speeder handle with a bit adapter is absolutely perfect in these situations. Given how deep down in the box it was buried, I bet I've used it more after my Granddad passed than he ever did. Also, my list now has a a 1/4 inch speeder, as well as a good quality bit holder for 1/4...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

I'm wondering, are Craftsman blades made on the same line? I used to mostly use Lenox, but I found the Craftsman ones had sharper tips (and well, were sharper).

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

You know, I know next to nothing about automotive upholstery--but isn't that supposed to be glued, not nailed down?

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Looks great. I just use a section of Closet Maid shelving my Granddad mounted above his workbench after yanking that stuff out of all the closets in favor of homemade wood. All my clamps hang on the edge.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

In a random bucket too, I found the following tools I lost: 1960s Craftsman ignition wrenches, in the exact bright blue makeup pouch I stored them in (great for small stuff and cheap)--they're going back in the hand box they originally came in from Sears six decades ago. 1970s Blackhawk 1/2...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Before I mow either a bit later or tomorrow, I finally got rid of the nails in some bug-eaten lumber piled up out of a chicken coop I tore down in anticipation of an new, easier-to-clean one (and chickens again). I used my speeder handle with a bit adapter in it to get rid of most of the PH2...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Me neither--and 99% of the time I'm using a ladder, it's outside on pretty uneven (and often not level) ground.

Yep. I'm going with them for all new axe purchases; as I've got a huge backlog of really beat-up secondhand axes to work on. Bad handles, wrong handles, no handles, terrible edges--a bit of everything. I'm currently saving up for a Pulaski and a couple hatchets from them. Unlike a few other...

Last year, I bought an old, US-made version of that one, as it had a nice handle for half what that handle would cost me. The head was pretty chipped up and pitted, and I figured junk. I cleaned it up as best as I could and put it to use. However, it's seen all kinds of use, and is just the...

Really need to get the screwdrivers with that handle on order. My go-to Stihl dealer (been around for almost 60 years and still-family run, also the one I go to when anything breaks...) apparently can't sell what corporate calls "dealer service tools". Yet, the Deere/Stihl dealer (which I only...

Finally found the Project Source version of those at Lowe's. They say these supposedly work better than plastic putty knives at getting stuff stuck to your 3D printer bed (looking at you, PET-G) off easier. Even in PET-G, the printed ones are brittle.

Craftsman blacksmith's hammer, 3 lbs. 6.8 oz. So, 3 lb? Paid just a bit more than the $12 Harbor Freight one ($15) for this one at a local antiques store. I'm thinking '70s or later since it has "WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES" on it. I've slowly been changing out my go-to shop hammers from 2 lb. ball...
