Lowe's had 75% off a number of old floor models, and I got this Greenworks electric pressure washer cheap. I asked if I could use standard fittings on it (as I had a nice hose on a junked Craftsman) and the lawn and garden manager spoke up and said I could have it for $20, which I happily paid...

    Can this be cleaned up?

Granddad shattered the flat point on a cheap one (despite it being marketed for that) somehow. I'll pick up some extra belts for my new Warrior belt sander (as my 1980s Skil kept losing the belts) and fix up the small piece of mine cart track I've got that was turned into an anvil decades ago...

The Tragedy Of The Brake Spring Pliers COO

A lot of companies are pulling this stunt... My brake spring pliers are KD, and probably nearly twice as old as I am. Reminds me of a Urrea wrench I bought--compared to China, I didn't mind Mexico, and the prices are very modest on the entire line. Yet, it was the other way around. The...

Do you have a source for Metric M4 screws in different sizes and plating?

Good to know. A fairly large portion of the 3D printed projects I'd like to try use small metric screws (typically M2-M4), and I haven't been impressed by the Amazon no-name assortments I've bought of various hardware.

    Harvey Hubbell

Noticed the same myself--seems like almost all search engines seem to heavily favor for sale listings and fake spam blogs.

And my good set of chisels is coincidentally Williams. Definitely need to put this on order, as it should cut back on smashed fingers.

Looks great! It seems like Mac had it briefly on the website when it came out, but I haven't seen it again. The web search brings up nothing. I've been wanting to try this one and/or the Snap-On of these as my pocket screwdriver--since both aren't really expensive (even by "regular" tool...

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

Weren't the standard wrenches like 50% off towards the middle of February?

    Tools of Japan

Having a 3D printer has kind of gotten me into being a flush cutter snob. I mostly buy Hakko or whatever the cheap one from Harbor Freight is, but those look to be made much better. I am also half certain the bigger one would hold up to cutting excess off of zip ties as well.

What kind of tools have you found in the road??

I've got a few variations of that one--it's a really good knife for a pretty low price--even better at free.

    Lowes deals/sales/clearance

Noticed that too. I'm wondering why they just didn't do a flex shaft type setup on that? My current one is a little Hyper Tough 4V. Not really good enough for the stuff I use the big corded Dremel on, but for fine hobby tasks and light around the house stuff--just enough.

I have some NAPA pliers that are this long. They've saved my **** repeatedly. Definitely need to flesh out my "super long" drawer a little more.

New, no. Used, by me maybe. Found an SK screwdriver that looks suspiciously like mine at an antiques store I frequent. Didn't say a word (as I'm good friends with the owner and still not 100% sure it was mine) partly due to it only being a couple bucks, but I have a suspect (a guy who the...

Confess: What Tool Did You Not Really Need But Bought Anyhow? (Silly Stuff Included)

I've got two of them (one from when Lowe's was blowing out Vaughan at a time when it was nearly sure the whole Marshalltown deal was gonna fall through), and then one I found randomly at a Sam's Club for $10 along with my first good hammer in a gift set as a teenager. I have almost all the...

Anyone here keep there air compressor outside next to the garage?

Mine's upstairs from the tiny ex-garage "farm shop" (so narrow, having a staircase again would take 30% of the room) in the apartment above (which I'm cleaning out to be my "man cave" here pretty soon). Pretty sure it's partly because that's where the fuse box is.

Lump hit a pretty good estate sale last weekend.

That Big Bang looks like the top of the line model. Mine's the smallest. An antiques store near me had the metal wheel version of that one, and I had meant to trade up, but didn't. PS: is that the DH-18 Handiman? That's a heck of a find as they're much rarer than the DH-16 (which I still...

    Snap On deal?

My personal price ceiling for used Snap-On is the cost of equivalent new Icon. While I had to go with Doyle wrenches (though I'm sure Bahco would probably be a better metric--as they are Snap-On owned), my total came to $267, without sales tax (@ around 7% since my HF is in WV). That's less...

Has Skilsaw become a premium brand again

Yes and no. Apparently, Chervon started to market "Skilsaw" as a pro brand in 2014, while Skil is well, homeowner grade stuff. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skilsaw

    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

I feel like an idiot. My A1 had started with a clicking extruder and terrible first layers. I had assumed "clog". First of all, nozzle. Multiple cold pulls--it was fine. No clogs. Extruder gear--some residue from the black TPU I use for tires, but fine. AMS and the PTFE--it still clicked with...
