Above 1200 Sq/FT Race Shop Remodel from warehouse and offices 10,000+ Sqft

Those are nice units. Keep in mind that assuming you run the exhaust outside (and you certainly should!) you're going to need roughly 50 CFM of air to enter the room for every 100 HP the bike under test produces. The bike will also create quite a bit of heat in the space. I've seen several...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Race Shop Remodel from warehouse and offices 10,000+ Sqft

Cool build. What do you have for a dyno and what are you doing for climate control in the dyno room?

First Delrin Experience Could Use A Primer

Delrin is a great material to work with. If you use a slightly larger pilot than you would with wood you can run a wood screw into it. You can drill it with just about anything. Keep the speed down to avoid melting

i just popped in to say that I continue to enjoy seeing your project posts. I know you're a pro photographer and you're just doing what you do but the pictures are a big part of what I enjoy about your story telling. I'm glad that you and Judiaann came to a resolution on the house. I hope...

    Deck Screws for Framing???

I wouldn't use decking screws but apart from cost there's no reason to not use framing screws. That's what they're for.

Need help on shop location (property pic attached)

Before you get too attached to either option you need to talk with whatever authority regulates septic systems in your area. There are two areas of concern Your current system may be sized for the existing house and you might not be allowed to plumb to it from the shop There's a trend to...

Well THAT'S not good.. Ever see an AGM battery self destruct?

Judging from the picture that looks like it was damaged from the out side. I assume you would have noticed if something was rubbing against it. I wonder if a critter chewed it open.

Cutting centers out if steel wheels.

I'd do a hole saw in the mill followed up with the boring bar to clean up.

School Me On High End Sockets Please

Don't use the Snap-On Flank drive open end wrenches on fasteners that you don't want marked up.

Dwell Meters, who still uses them?

My dwell meter died about 10 years ago and on the rare occasions I work on a points ignition I've been using an oscilloscope since then. Two of my three race cars have distributors so I do use a timing light pretty regularly.

Access to this elevated storage area

I like the hidden door bookcase idea. Since it's going to be custom anyway add some insulation to it.

    Storage for wire spools

I had one of those and hated it. It was fine when in use but changing the spools took more time than it ever saved. I just store wire in Rubbermaid tubs. Sorted by gauge. It's not glamorous but it works for me.

Shop apron any one still use?

Me too. My regular grubbies are jeans and a pocket t shirt. Unless it's cold. Then it's jeans and a long sleeve pocket t shirt.

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

I once fixed an intermittent oil pressure problem on a 350 SBC in a C10 pickup that turned out to be half a dozen of those floating around in the pan. It would carry good oil pressure until you reved it and then they'd get sucked up into the pickup screen and block it of. Let it sit and they'd...

(Part 2) Looking for a o-ring lube that is safe to come in contact with ATF

Use petroleum jelly, mostly known by the brand name Gasoline. That's what I've used for oring lube and to hold parts in place when rebuilding transmissions for decades.

    Benchmaster Table Top Milling Machine

Prior to this thread I'd never heard of Benchmaster. That looks like a really solid piece of equipment. Particularly for its size.
