    rattle_snake's random shop projects v0.1

Justin, I saw a white Bumpside on Ray Rd yesterday with dirt bike in the back. When I first saw the truck in my mirror I thought for sure it was you as it was the same color and stance. I then realized it was a bump and the bike was a Kawi.....

    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

I just read a crazy long detailed post about a shifter and I was enthralled by it more than any book I've ever read....... Always impressive! The tech side of the electronics is well out of my realm, but I can definitely appreciate the thought that went into making all of this work.

My Miller T94 is DOA - looking for replacement recommendation

Mine only lasted like 3 years. Honestly, I think lack of use is what contributed to it's short life. I was working a lot of hours back then, so I didn't get enough time in the garage to keep the battery topped off.

My Miller T94 is DOA - looking for replacement recommendation

I had an Optrel and it was badass, but once the internal battery died I got a Miller Elite. I'd prefer to have an Optrel with a replaceable battery. The upside to the Miller is ease of parts, but I preferred everything else about the Optrel.

Do water key end bits exist the square 5/16” to put on a ratchet or hex bit?

I had to remove the handles from my hose bibs due to bums helping themselves to my water in the middle of the night. I wouldn't typically mind, but they didn't have the decency to turn the water off when they were done. F them, they can be thirsty or hooch their water from someone else.

The Würth Tools Thread - are these Wurthwhile

Olli, you're not going to get many contributions from North America, we don't have "ü" here. :ROFLMAO: Really though, for how giant Würth is in Europe, it doesn't have nearly the presence here.

    Wrench organizer comparison

I've been really happy with the Ernst Pro organizers. Red are SAE, Black are MM. Their flexibility allowed me to shoehorn a lot of wrenches into one drawer.

    Accurate dial tire gauge

I used one of these today and it was a really nice unit. Granted, it carries a premium price. https://powertank.com/products/ventoso-trooper-red

    Harbor Freight ICON Magnetic Matt

I thought you were still in the Valley somewhere. Either way, I used the mat today and it worked okay. I would prefer it to be a little bit bigger for longer ratchets/wrenches. Time will tell.

    Harbor Freight ICON Magnetic Matt

Last week the valley was well stocked with the magnetic mats and the pliers that have been hard to get. They must've got a large shipment to the distribution hub. The Tempe and Mesa stores actually had them in stock for a few days. I meant to get one and ran out of time. My wife told me to buy...

    New TEKTON German Made Hammers

Tekton is confusing as a brand; the majority of their hard line tools are Asian imports, yet they have some domestically sourced tools as well as very high end imports (tool boxes, Hammers, screwdrivers, etc.) I embrace most German made products, yet these hammers don't make sense to me. A...

    Extra light weight car jacks?

No idea, I think it might've been 3/4"

    Extra light weight car jacks?

No, they include an adapter to use a 1/4" gun. Once the threads of the jack have dust and sand on them, the 1/4" gun didn't have enough grunt to lift a UTV. Personally, I'd just modify a cheap jack.

    Extra light weight car jacks?

Get a scissor jack and weld on a bolt that is the same size as your lugnuts. You don't want to have to carry around a handle or some sort of adapter. We use RV stabilizer jacks for longer travel stuff, otherwise a standard one works fine for most vehicles. I'm a big AGM fan, but the 1/4"...

Making an Aluminum car under tray

You better have it secured and insulated at every contact point or your car is going to sound like a dumpster every time you hit a bump.

TEMU Headlamp, LED based, is excellent

I just wanted to bump this thread with another solid recommendation for this style of headlamp. I don't use them often, but they kick *** when needed. I just replaced a starter with my only light source being the headlamp. I had my Astro stick light and flood light below the truck with me, but...
