Puget Dude’s creations and fabrications (Random project thread.)

Some people have all the fun! Years ago we were going from Williams, AZ to Moab, UT and we saw this on the I40 between Williams and Flagstaff....

    Some of Bodj Built's builds

Pipe rack, they are plumbers! Yeah, that truck is amazing. It was fabbed up to roller status by Everson, and was finished in house by the guys with one of their left over SBF Class 1 motors detuned to run on pump gas. Their goal was to keep it "low profile", so all of the rear cage was kept...

    Some of Bodj Built's builds

Congrats Bodj! My friend and role model Big D had his freshly finished 1975 Ford in the BadLinesGoodTimes section. Our team was all pretty pumped on it.

    Tekton Catalog and New Releases

In my opinion, locking extensions are tools where you really get what you pay for. My favorite are Proto.

I did a double take thinking that was in Venezuelan Bolivars or something!

Tekton Screwdrivers are now from Witte...

I'll be honest, I kinda like them. I've always liked the way the Witte drivers look, but I've never liked the limited sets they come in. The Tekton set looks all encompassing, which is important to me. I've been wanting to change up my Proto set for a while, so maybe I'll take a look at these.

A Dzus button dimple die setup might also work. I never thought about trying them to countersink rivnuts. The angle might not allow them to seat properly vs a flat face, but I might screw around with it.

Making my 70 El Camino a show car

Beautiful Job Don, I hope you get the small bugs sorted out and enjoy logging some miles! Your car brings back a fond memory from my childhood. My grandfather was a serious car collector and he loved El Camino's. He was actually looking for another before he kicked the bucket. At one point he...

    Harbor Freight ICON Magnetic Matt

Out of curiosity I looked at availability, and you're right, they are essentially sold out in AZ. They appear to be a pretty good deal (even at full cost) compared to similar products on the market. I've been thinking about getting something to organize my tools while I'm working, and I kind of...

I have one and it's been great. I bolted some big round magnets from HF to it and stuck it to the back of my toolbox. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0D4QF5FZN?tag=atomicindus08-20

    New Icon Bigger Meme Tool

I bought the smaller kit 6 months ago and hadn't used it much until recently. In the last couple of weeks I've used it to hang a TV and to replace the cartridge in the mixing valve in our shower. I find the configurable ratchet/extension to be really functional and I'm impressed with the overall...

    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

I'm getting more and more **** retentive. I had flashbacks of my grandfather the other day when I was showing my daughter how to "fold" the cleaning rag instead of "balling it up". I remember him explaining that to me like it was yesterday!

    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

My advice is make time to have him vacuum out the cuts. If there are two things I picked up from being around my grandfather's shop was all hoses get rolled up and all spots on the driveway get cleaned. It's amazing what sticks with you......

    rattle_snake's random shop projects v0.1

Justin, is there a reason other than packaging you don't go with a pump without a built in reservoir and do a remote mounted reservoir? It seems that would give you the most clearance on your AC compressor and eliminate the fluid sloshing out of the cap.

    rattle_snake's random shop projects v0.1

I tried one with a hydraulic assist setup and the size of the resevoir was a problem for the volume and temp of fluid. Not overly surprised, but we were trying to go for easy packaging and light weight. I wouldn't hesitate to run one on the truck with a regular box; should be better than the...

    Robust 12V Air Compressor

I have the following: Puma- Best for larger tires. Pulls a lot of amps, so I alligator clip it to the battery. ARB- Most compact, low volume. I have this mounted in my CJ7. Viar- Higher pressure, lower volume than the Puma. Pulls less amps than the Puma, but still needs a 10awg power line. I...

1966 F100 EcoBoost Engine Swap (EcoBoosted)

One of my good friends is in charge of the electrical grid at the airport; I'm sure he was shitting bricks when the storm rolled in! I'll check on him tomorrow after he's gotten some sleep.
