I use the tool a few times a year It's something I've had since the 1980s It never seems to work well, but that very well could be operator error. Are modern designs easier to use? Which would you suggest? Budget/value for home DIY

Is this a valid substitute for a nut driver? Spinner handle and 1/4" socket? It's the shaft thing that's an issue for nuts but works fine for bolt head screws?

You nailed it. Low torque. This is why the ratchet won't click on backturn. So annoying

Exactly. a Drill or impact can seem like overkill for a little screw. So I used a 1/4" ratchet and 1/4" socket

I myself have M18 Fuel, both 3/8 and 1/2. Happy with that. Friend probably doesn't need to spend as much for occasional hobby home use. What's a good value brand ?
