water absorb test. take 2 witb pictures

No problem on the hijack, Jaye. I just finished and used SikaFlex along the perimeter. I want it level for appearance but it won't get even full body weight on it let alone the weight of a car. I used the "real stuff" HD 821in traffic areas, but I ran out. I am optimistic about the results...

    Another Thumbs Up for Legacy

Congratulations and this is and encouraging post! I have been working with Scotty for a few months and am very impressed by his accessibility and knowledge. As a newbie, I have had a ton of questions about the most basic stuff, i.e., how do you open a can of paint. Just kidding. I'm not that...

So, regarding water absorbtion, I kept grinding. The worst spots are now the best and the floor is in great shape for taking a bond. Regarding filler, I have not decided yet.

    oil stains - pre-prep questions

Great idea, Jay. It always pays to ask questions and keep thinking because no one cares about our projects or thinks through the solutions more than us (owners).

water absorb test. take 2 witb pictures

Thanks. I also used up four gallons of HD 821. Good stuff, and it covered all the 2x4's about half inch deep. However, I still have some perimeter wall that needs leveling caulk before I can epoxy. If I don't caulk it, the epoxy will run into the seam between the wall and floor and be...

water absorb test. take 2 witb pictures

Thanks. What is time requirement then? I am using Legacy Primer and it is water based and it will be down permanently. Why isn't 50 minutes for water to absorb reasonable? Thanks again.

Water absorbs in worst spots in 50 minutes. Does this pass for epoxy application? Thanks.

Water absorb test -- what passes?

Hey all. First of all, thanks for all the help with my basic newbie questions. Here is another. I have 40 year old concrete in good shape but dirty. I had oil stains and places where water was beading from spills of unknown stuff. I cleaned and then ground the floor. I have no more beading...

    diamabrush vacuum shroud port size

Thanks, everyone. It is reassuring to know I am not missing something obvious.

    diamabrush vacuum shroud port size

My 4.5 inch grinder works well with the Diamabrush shroud, but the vacuum port on the shroud does not fit my Ridgid brand vacuum hose. Neither standard nor car detail hose fits. I am gonna duck tape it in place, but wonder why the size is not standard. Has anyone else experienced this?

Notched squeegee or not? Is there a consensus?

What is your verdict on the squeegee? I apply next and would like to know. I plan to just use a an 18 inch roller and skip the squeegee all together. Thanks!

Garage Stem Walls - What to do

FFPL: I read your post above on your friends garage. I am about to do my garage with Legacy products and have a few questions if you don't mind: 1) What type of grinding wheel did you use? Was it a cup wheel or a diamabrush? 2) Did you just role the primer, epoxy and sealer on the walls...

Garage stem walls - please help

Can I get some clarification on this? I have not epoxied my floor yet. I would like the epoxy to go up the walls 4 inches, similar to a cove moulding. I can still grind the walls four inches up. Do I simply apply the primer, epoxy and sealer coats with a brush on the vertical surface or will...

Garage Stem Walls - What to do

Rigore: I am in a similar situation as you. I was originally leaning toward acid wash and Legacy Sealer but decided to go the full nine yards with epoxy. I found grinding the flor to be work, but pretty gratifying actually. I used a 7 inch diamabrush. It all depends what your goals are, how...

My Legacy Garage Renewal: Decisions, Actions, Results

Next Steps: 1) I plan to finish grinding the 2 x 4 cracks, vacuum and damp mop the opening, and then fill it with HD 821. I don't want to pressure wash or use a hose because it will leave too much water in the exposed wood. 2) Next day I can grind the HD 821 down with the 4.5 diamabrush...
