Need electric water heater - any advice?

Check with your utility company to see if any energy rebates are available if you upgrade to a heat pump unit. At one time the rebates would cover the entire cost.

Hide the wife's Bose in the garage behind a few quarts of oil. Deny any knowledge of what happened to her radio. Problem solved.

Why 240V Delta? Is that all that was available? Seems like an odd "upgrade"

    Wire size for 200A Subpanel

One thing you don't want are any surprises for anyone. All the information on the machining center, phase converter and other loads should be included in your service request to National Grid. If they know what you are planning on doing, all that information will be required.

    Any scissor lift experts?

I bought a used Skyjack 3226 from United Rentals. They had multiple units to choose from. The one I bought they brought in from another location, serviced it, put on new tires and delivered it. It had right around 200 hrs on it. They will service it after purchase if needed. My lift has...

    NEC 2023 547.3

547.3 doesn't say much of anything. I believe all it is saying is if the space not being used for things a barn is typically used for, it will need to be wired for the use of that space. Auto repair facility? Airplane Hanger? Operating room? Indoor Pool? Dry storage? You decide and wire...

    Question about transformer

Talk to your electrician and the utility to see what your options are. If you are the only one on that transformer the utility may be able to move it back toward the street. You would have to extend your secondaries to the house. If you plan on running a new service to the new garage and can...

    Porto Power press retraction question

Make sure the hose connection at the ram is tight. If the hose is not tight, the pressure from the pump will extend the ram but the spring does not have enough force to return the fluid.

So where's everyone buying their wire these days? NM-B/Romex specifically..

I get all of mine from the supply house. If I order it before 5:00 it's at my door by 6 am the next day. They may or may not be a few cents more but chasing material cost way more in time. For a DIY, big box may be the way to go.

7.5 HP Compressor Shutting Off - 3 Capacitor Testing & Identifying & Grease Fitting Question

Doesn't sound like it's the pressure switch. If you're pressing the reset button to get it to restart, its stopping on thermal and could be caused by an overload or poor connection. Does it stop on run up? Mechanical issue, low voltage, bad run capacitor, poor connection, motor or compressor...

    Suggestions needed on defunct building

I just looked at a building similar to this today to restore power etc. for potential tenant use. The building owner had a lot of ideas but no plan. You need a plan. Would the local utility allow a temporary service for "construction" needs?

Construction cost sanity check: western mass

For 100 amps, yes 1 1/2 or even 1 1/4" would work. OP might want to upgrade to 200 amps at a later date, so a minimum of 2" would be needed. 2 1/2" conduit and conduit bodies would make the pull much easier especially if using aluminum conductors, but 2" will work. 3/4" for a single cat 5/6...
