Deep Cycle Battery - Tests Good, Functions Bad…

12.5V after 12 hours off the charger. So, I guess that's the answer, isn't it. I think I will skip the load test...no reason for it, and no baseline to compare to. Time for a new battery! Thanks for teaching me how to diagnose! Still curious how a fancy mechanic's purpose-built battery...

Deep Cycle Battery - Tests Good, Functions Bad…

Thanks for the help, folks. I took the charger off tonight, we'll see where it is in 12 hours. I agree with the consensus: I have a dying battery. Showkey said: "4 years on that battery in a “hot” climate is a very common failure time." My battery lives in the garage, and during the summer...

Deep Cycle Battery - Tests Good, Functions Bad…

Spent a while taking measurements: [EDIT: these measurements taken after the battery had been sitting on the smart charger for hours]. The voltage goes into the battery (when the 25%, 50%, and 75% lights are lit on the charger) in falling spurts...high to low, then repeat. On average, the...

Deep Cycle Battery - Tests Good, Functions Bad…

I shoulda given more background info, sorry: - No, never run dead, not even close. Installed a LV disconnect when I bought the battery for just that reason, but it sits on the NOCO smart charger all the time, except when pulled into mobile use, and then the LVD monitors discharge. The LVD has...

Deep Cycle Battery - Tests Good, Functions Bad…

I have a 120Ah deep cycle battery I keep in the garage, connected to a NOCO 7A smart charger. The deep cycle battery gets used during (increasingly frequent in california) power outages, to charge phones, charge tool batteries, and run LED lights when the power’s out, or whenever I need a DC...

Thanks for giving this a think. Agree that the 3.0 HO batteries are overkill for the impact driver; I'm just getting in to M18 and sharing batteries with the hackzall that can use the addtional power. Question to those who like the softside bags...why? I'm always looking for hard sided...

Concern about case is not aesthetic, it's structural. Also opening up holes will allow bits to fall in between the walls and never return. Thanks for OMT tip.

I "screwed" myself with my m18 fuel impact driver purchase. Decided to assemble my own kit; purchased a hard case for the 2853-20, 2x CP HO 3.0 batteries, and a DC charger. All good except...the 3.0 batteries won't fit in the case! D'oh! They make the insides of those custom...

Does anyone know WHY some Milwa LiIon batteries have 3 year warranty, some have 2 year, and some have 1 year? https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Support/Registration-and-Warranty

Question to the Milwa experts. I'm just starting an M18 set of tools. I purchased 2x 3.0Ah CP HO batteries for $99 at HD. After opening, I read the mfg date on the bottom: 190328. According to battery decoding documents, that's close to April 2019. Here it is December and I just bought them off...

Emphasis on "slow." I could not find the two-pack of the 3.0Ah HO in the store so ordered it on Dec 7 with ship to store. Latest estimate is that they'll have it to the store for pickup on Dec 27!

That's remarkable. Where I live, 2 hours distant from that giant orifice (the ports of San Pedro) that receives the products from our Chinese overlords, and distributes them across the nation by rail and semi, I've not ever received any order from HD in less than a week and a half.

Keeping in mind that HD ties your order to a turtle with a busted leg to ship your item to your store. I'm seeing 9 day transit times in the ultra-connected, warehouse-dense, semi-truck-choked-freeways of the greater Los Angeles area. For history buffs, that's the same amount of time it took...

That sounds familiar; different vendor tho; I ordered the Milwa DC charger from ToolNut on 11/26 and it still hasn't arrived as of Dec 12 ... that's 17 days and still counting. The items ordered from Amazon, with the slow non-prime free shipping option, arrived in 5 days. Just sayin.'

Am I the only sewing dude on the forum? That seam needs to be triple stitched if it's prone to pulling out -- is it? My thinking is, if you design a bag to carry tools, then ya need to beef it up until it can handle what people will inevitably carry in it. The fabric itself (ballistic nyloon)...
