    Milwaukee Power Tools Deal Permathread

Looks like Javy paid $60 for what HD calls a $99 battery (and what Amazon calls a $68 battery). D'oh, cross post.

Re: Storing Batteries on Charger? Two schools of thought. Lot of people leave the batteries on the charger and swear by it. The charger is a "smart" charger and is not overcharging the battery. OTOH, there's another school of thought that says the part of the charge that stresses a LiIon the...

I dunno. Corded still works when the batteries die, and doesn't require ongoing $100-200 investments in new batteries...I like both.

Milwaukee Batteries. Was googling around and found this interesting page that claims to have decoded the diagnostic flashes on Milwaukee batteries, including days since first (or second?) charge, and cycle count...

I've not been able to pull the trigger on the Milwa Packout boxes because I have issues with the design. I thought I was the only one?! The small boxes get carried by handle upright, but opened flat, which means the contents get the old blender-mix treatment. I don't like boxes that change...

    2020 Lowe's deals/sales/clearance thread

Lowes has an outrageous deal on a tool I own and really like, the Hitachi now Metabo 12V drill driver & impact (and light and charger and 2 batteries) combo. Now down to $35 *IF* you can find it anywhere. Seen it on Amazon for $190. Can't find a single set in California. Good luck to you! Not...

is anyone still using the old Makita 9.6v nicad stick pack tools?

I paid $13 each for my 3.6Ah PowerExtra NiMH 9.6V stick batteries on Amazon...that's not much of a risk...for comparison, my 3.0Ah M18 batteries were $50 each on sale... $75 each normally...

is anyone still using the old Makita 9.6v nicad stick pack tools?

Dad's been gone nearly two decades, but I've mostly left his shop the way he left it. Found this teal cardboard box in his shop recently... And look what's inside... ...a sweet 4390D. I bought 2x aftermarket NiMHs for it (PowerExtra 3.6Ah) which seem to charge fine in the original charger...

Which would you recommend between these two M18 Fuel grinders: the 2780-20 paddle, or the 2781-20 slide switch? Looks like the 2781 is typically +$40, why is that?

Agree on #1 - interesting to me too. A civil conversation, and I've learned a lot from it. We all win if we can learn to manage batteries in a way that suits us, whether geek or not. I'm now fully motivated to not "top off" my Li-Ions. Agree on #2 - that would be awesome. DFB notes rapid...

I’m interested in the battery discussion, thanks guys. In particular (forgive the ellipses) this: My understanding is mostly in line: That the danger to Li-ion is in overcharging, so a Li-ion will last longer if you don’t charge completely to full; i.e., partial charges are better. Some...
