    Which puller should I keep?

I bought both of these pullers yesterday. I really should sell one of them, as I could use the money. So, what exactly is the difference between them? Would they both be used for the same thing, or is one of them more specialized? First is the New Britain. It's 8" wide, and the arms are about...

6" jaw Reed Vise. -South Jersey

This is a really nice vise! The jaws are 6" wide, and it opens to 10". It weighs 150 pounds. The swivel base works nice and smooth, and locks up solid. There are only two problems with the vise, one of the balls off the handle is missing, and there are some hammer marks on top of the slide...

Reed vise, trying to figure out a price.

My dad picked up this vise earlier today to resell. I've been doing a little research on it for him, but I figured I would ask on here. It weighs about 150 pounds, the jaws are 6" wide, and it opens to 10". What do you think would be a fair price would be for it on here or craigslist?

Ever see a socket do this before?

I tried loosening a partially round bolt today, and it was a little too rounded I guess. The socket just slipped on it, and when I took it off I found this, The sides are dented in, and the chrome is flaking off the edges. And this was a brand new socket when I started.

Proto 3/8" ratchet. This can't be right?

I picked this ratchet up a while ago, and just got around to trying to clean it up. There is an awful lot of slop/movement in it, the whole drive plug wobbles all over the place. The drive square will move about 1/8" back and forth. When I opened it up the first time, there was the remains of...

Converting a 7" Disc Sander to an Angle Grinder

I just picked up a 7" Disc sander at an auction a few hours ago. Aside from the lack of a guard, it seems identical to an angle grinder. It runs at 8500 rpm, and it's 13 amps. It's even got the same arbor as an angle grinder. If I fabricate a guard, is there any reason I couldn't use it with...

Round VS Pear head. What is your ratchet preference?

I realize this is just a matter of personal preference, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it. Personally, I usually prefer the pear head design. I like to be able to change direction with one hand. Though I do have a palm control round head ratchet that only takes one hand, and it's...

All you ever wanted to know about gasoline Blowtorches

Well, a recent post on here made me decide it was about time to do a writeup on Blowtorches. I've been collecting them for about a year, and learning everything I could in that time. Admittedly, that certainly doesn't make me an expert, but I think I know a little more about them than a lot of...

    Antique "Ooga" horn.

This horn is about 10" tall, so it's quite a bit larger than most Ooga horns that I have seen. The insulation on the wires was in very bad shape, and I didn't have a chance to replace them so I just wrapped them in electrical tape so I could test it. It works great, here is a video so you can...
