Cutting sheet metal with sliding Miter saw?

A month ago I watched a guy build a aluminum handrail using a slide compound. He would cut slowly forward then pull the blade backwards across the end cut to knock off the burrs. Seems to work great for him. It wasn't sheet metal. Not sure if that's a good idea.

Chinese Craftsman Tools, How bad can it REALLY be?

Sears will exchange without a receipt for in-store credit. **** happens, sockets get rusty sometimes in shipping. It's not the end of the world for a GIFT. Meaning, it was a gift and you didn't pay for it. Seems like you are just ****-hurt you didn't get the gift you wanted.

    Oscillating multi tool suggestions

Get the HF one if you don't use it much. I use a cordless Craftsman and it's been fine for almost everything. The HF corded has more power and is a good tool. (I cut sheetrock, PVC, wood, etc...)

What kind of saw to get for framing?

I agree. Having a saw next to where you cut when framing is better than having a miter saw. I have framed many houses and never touched a miter saw. A Skill 77 will save you time and last forever. At least in my world forever is 20+ years and still going. I can rip plywood as good as any...
