I would have the concrete stop at least a few inches below grade. This would make sure no little ones hit that exposed column of concrete and you (or the next owner) could cut the metal posts and leave the concrete when it is time for this masterpiece to go live elsewhere.

I bought these from NAPA during a recent sale

I like this idea. Last year I made handles for about 4 of mine that didn’t have one. I used a piece of dowel from an old stool. Cut to length, drill a hole, jam the file in, round the end, and move to the next one.

I bought a couple of the Klein adjustables about 10 years ago when they were on clearance at HD for $7 or $8. Been real happy with them.

If you like flex, the 1/2” flex with comfort grip is priced pretty reasonably, though it is the new color scheme. I was thinking about getting one because I really like my 3/8 locking flex so i checked it out. It felt nice and COO wasn’t China, it’s Taiwan.
