The blue soft grips are disappearing fast! I want a 1/2“ ratchet but they are still well over $100.

Giant brass acorn nuts, any ideas what they're for?

I guess one has to chose their words carefully when asking someone to remove scratches from their giant nuts

    Show off your.... Carlyle Tools!!!

A couple of weeks ago I decided to upgrade the ratchets (USA craftsman) in my daily driver and made it to NAPA today. I had planned to get the individual R14TD, R38TD and R12TD but the store had a set of them. I have an account with them so my price may be less than yours, but i paid the...

Got mine late last night. It was 6 individual tubes, not a special 2-pack.

Tools you hate but wont die to replace

I also have a set of these and almost never use them. I keep them for the box end though as they are longer than my other combination wrenches

Tools you hate but wont die to replace

My skil belt sander. I bought it a year or two out of school (about Y2K) when I had very limited funds. It has never been great but keeps on truckin. One day it is going to let the smoke out or I’ll run across a great deal one a better one.

    Horizontal air cooler lines

Each of my vertical drops goes to a tee. Straight out is a quick connect supply. Straight down is a few inches of drip leg and a valve. I don’t get much water out of them so this may not have been necessary. But I also don’t have a cooler and run regular water line pex.

buried drain pipe to move rainwater away from house - what type and how deep?

No, the dry wells fill up. But only during periods of heavy rain and only when the ground is already pretty wet. I knew this was a possibility but also figured they were moving enough water fast enough that there wouldn’t be a problem.

buried drain pipe to move rainwater away from house - what type and how deep?

This is what I did. Some sections had very, very little slope due to my lot being fairly level, but they will still move huge amounts of water. Most of mine go to popups, but i do have 2 dry wells on the property. I would NOT recommend this for a down spout as both of mine fill up at times.

Craftsman and Evercraft have been on their way out for some time now. I think the Performance line is an improvement over Evercraft

    Decent tool set of 4x4ing

There are people on this forum that abuse a 4x4 for no good reason, though I try to avoid the mud.

Just customized / doubled the value of my tool box

I have one that looks very similar but didn’t come from snap on. I think mine was under $400. Not the greatest but does the job for my basement box.

Adding more unusual sockets to fill in the holes in my collection

It will be complete for a minute. Then (if you are like most of us here) you will add something that doesn’t fit and have to find a new organizer. Then you find you are out of space and get a more compact organizer. Then a larger box….

    TEKTON Double-Faced Soft Mallet $6.95

I already have a couple of the estwing deadblow hammers and they are great. Plus framing hammer, 2 claws, 3 ball peen, chipping, drilling, and the brick hammer. I’m a big fan.

    Tested Husky Warranty Today . . .

If you are a regular and get to know someone that works returns, things will be a lot easier. Or start by getting it approved by management first. Pay attention to their aprons as the mgr and assistants have this designation under their name.

    Scrapyard finds thread

I found a metal gear that I wanted at a scrap yard but they wanted a couple hundred for it which i couldn’t justify for yard art. It was at least 5 ft tall and a couple inches thick.
