I also received the confirmation email, I was told on the phone it should be ready by July 3rd -- just in time for putting the engine back in my friend's GTI. Here's hoping it all works out, I was gearing up (pun intended) to buy the Tekton set at nearly five times the price!

I got a set of the Proto/Blackhawk line wrenches as a wedding gift, and used them to do stainless lines on my AX car. The fit and finish are spot on, and the price tag for a set was far below the Snap-On, and you really don't want a low quality wrench when dealing with brakes.

That's fair, I hadn't considered that. Loctite on the set screws seems like the smart move.

I hear the HF locking extensions' set screws (that hold the whole "locking" mechanism in place) work their way out, it's caused me to shy away from them for automotive use. Is there a reason you need the locking function in particular? Personally I'd just swing for a regular set of extensions...

The spray can holders are great for beer! Otherwise I don't have a ton of magnetic surfaces in my garage, so my usage is kind of limited. However, I love the magnetic trays for bolts, I've got a pretty large collection of them that gets used for organizing things when I'm taking them apart.

I work in electronics repair, and we use (and thoroughly abuse) Wiha screwdrivers and they just don't give up. I'd love to try out the Wera stuff as it also seems top notch, but at home I don't do a lot of repair anymore, and can get by with a far cheaper set.

I'm a huge fan of the Tekton stuff, otherwise maybe the Kobalt 1/4" -- I've found their 72-tooth has a longer handle than the 90-tooth, I would assume the flex heads follow the same. But definitely not a bad pricetag for the tool, though Tekton has some damned fine quality tools as well.
