    LM8500 Wall Controller Failure.

This morning I went outside and found my garage door open. The light on the LM888 was out and would not close the door. I have three 8500 openers and this is the second to fail this way. The date on the controller is 2/2015. I was able to close the door by removing the two wires and touching...

    Oil Filter Position on Cars

My 1991 535i BMW was the same. Super easy. Also my 2013 Mercedes C250 and my 2006 Mercedes Sprinter Van are very similar to the BMW with filter replaceable from the top. Just unscrew the cap and drop the new filter in.

    Vac Brake Bleeder - MityVac

I have had a MityVac for many years. Still works great and has never failed me on numerous vehicles, including ABS. I can't understand why people have problems using one. By far the easiest method I have found to bleed brakes by yourself. No need for grease either or any 'pigtail' or any...

Flyback diodes on relays to stop voltage spikes

I have used the MOVs on relays that are actuated dozens of times per day/365 days per year. The MOVs showed no signs of failure after years in service. An MOV of the proper voltage rating won't be any more prone to failure than a diode.

Flyback diodes on relays to stop voltage spikes

I have always used an MOV instead of a diode whenever I thought the 'inductive kick' from the relay coil might be a problem. MOVs have no polarity.

Factory vehicle tool kits, what cars had them?

My 1991 BMW 535i had a similar tool kit. I bought the car new and had it over 25 years, but never had to use the tools. I kept them when I sold the car.
