Switched to combo driver for electrical screws. Wish I'd done this years ago.

I'm lost. What does a combo fastener head look like? What does the screwdriver tip look like? I must be missing something in the pictures OP posted. I've probably swapped out 100+ outlets and switches in various homes I've lived in, but never heard of this.

"Water Pump" pliers where does the name come from?

Garden hose fittings also. Too big for most "regular" slip joint pliers.

"Water Pump" pliers where does the name come from?

That's what I've always called them too and I have several. I never heard them called water pump pliers except here on GJ.

Ever use an impact driver as an impact wrench or vice-versa, with adapters?

I don't have any of those newfangled electric impact wrenches or impact drivers. Still using my pneumatic IR 3/8" drive impact wrench for light duty. So far have not seen a reason to switch to batteries with the small quantity of work I do. From time to time I put a bit in it, or size up with a...

Do regular handle-less pry bars work just as well for automotive use?

I prefer a plastic handle with striking plate for automotive work. Easier on the hands than bare metal, especially in extreme use or hanging off it. Exception was an old 5 foot long tractor axle with a pointy end, mostly used for levering lower control arms to pop the ball joint loose. I used...

AA battery failure - gun safe

Maybe, but Occam's Razor says they are just trying to make them more cheaply, in order to squeeze every possible bit of profit for the stockholders.

AA battery failure - gun safe

Odd. I can't remember the last time I found a leaky alkaline battery, if ever. I do recall the old "heavy duty" ones leaking though.

Wheel bearing puller, how much impact?

I'd give it a go with your existing setup. Scrape away any rust around the rim with a pick, and spray some oil around it. Sometimes you can start the puller, get some tension, then whack it from behind to break it loose if needed. Good luck 🤞

Wheel bearing puller, how much impact?

If it doesn't work, you could always pull the knuckle and take it to a local shop with a hydraulic press.
