Old black & decker 1/2 drill repair?

I just fixed a similar drill. Got a new switch off ebay. Any one part cost about the same as a whole used drill. I fixed it for my Dad, who will give it to one of my kids.

If buying new, spend the extra $30 to get the green ones with big batteries. Amazon warehouse usually has some good deals.

Drill Press - Treadmill motor conversion

Treadmills require "softstart" as a safety feature. You can disable that. you can also wire a switch into the speed control circuit to start/stop the motor without having to change the speed. I will write that up after I've tested. As others have suggested, you can just go buy all the...

Drill Press - Treadmill motor conversion

Here's some better pics: The blue wire is optional, It's a switched line that stops the motor if it gets to hot. In the lower left of the schematic, it describes the speed control input. If wiring in a potentiometer, the outer legs go to L and H, and the center one goes to W

Home Made Socket Organizers......(LET'S SEE THEM!!!)

Here's one I made for my stubby Allen and torx sockets. A little easier than a normal socket set because I only needed 3 drill sizes. I did the layout in PowerPoint. Using the align and distribute tools made it easy. Printed to actual size and taped it to a 1 x 4 oak board. Center punched all...

Help refinishing Vise restoration with Dremel tool

Wire brush, but Dremel is way too small and will take forever. 3 or 4" wire brush in a drill will be a lot better. Maybe use the Dremel in areas the bigger brush can't get to.

    Best Philips screwdriver?

Only spend big money on the Philips #2, the rest don't really get used hard. Even then most of the "hard" tasks are done by drill/drivers with replaceable tips. I have drawer full of craftsman that get used for lots of non-screw-driving tasks.
