Are Nut Drivers a Favorite Tool? For What?

I use mine quite a bit, specially on small engine work. My favorite set up is a 1/4" drive handle that you use whatever 1/4" socket you need along with a 1/4 ratchet. Once you break the bolt loose pull the ratchet off and spin away.

If your hole you drilled is fairly centered, an ez out mite work. Those threaded tips feel pretty rough anytime after theyve been used much.

Would you buy a Craftsman starter set?

I voted yes, I like the 6 point sockets and the fact your not getting 20 or 30 allen wrenches is a plus. (more of the good stuff) Ive also found the nut drivers to be very useful !

Id say there fine, the needle being off is just an adjustment for ease of reading the dial straight up, it wont effect accuracy at all !

Starrett Dial Caliper- How'd I do?

Looks like the dial has skipped a tooth or two...no big deal,if it comes with the brass shim just put it between the gear rack and the back of the dial and slowly roll the gear into the shim, it will let the needle move back to straight up..may take a...
