    Let's See Your Garage Dog

My wife texted this to me this morning. Adding a doggy door to the house has been both a blessing and a curse. We just had the carpets cleaned before Christmas, too.

It's alright, Nissan is going to fix all of that.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I just learned about this recently. Apparently it's somewhat common for the Honda J series engines to crumble away around the spark plug tubes. It looks like they start to deform and look "melted" early on. Then it just crumbles away into a fine powdery dust.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I'm ready to pull the timing belt on my J35A8 engine after replacing power steering feed line, and the front and engine mounts. I had an oil leak that looked like it was coming from the oil pan on the passenger side. After digging into it a bit deeper, I think the leak was actually coming from...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

My reliable old daily driver is getting some much needed repairs and maintenance. New power steering high pressure line, all 3 engine mounts plus the the trans mount. New timing belt, tensioner, water pump and idler pulley. Valve lash adjustment and new spark plugs. Plus new o-rings for the...

My neighbor brought the front struts to his Subaru to me to swap out for him. I'm used to Honda's where you just need a box end wrench and an Allen key to remove the nut from the strut. I had never seen one where the nut is recessed so far into the top hat like this. I figured out this is...

Capacitive probe and a valve lash adjustment tool I tested out the capacitive probe last night. I've got to play with it some more to get a consistent trigger.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I replaced the tired, 30 year old rear deck speakers in one of my cars. I had to make my own adapter brackets since the supplied brackets were just plain wrong.

    Problems with Milwaukee M12 Charger(S)

I'll have to try this out. My M12/M18 combo charger hasn't charged my M12 batteries in over a year. I had to buy a separate standalone M12 charger. It would be nice if I could get the combo charger working again.

I've been putting off this purchase for a while since I thought there would have been something better. It's supposed to work on the Honda engines from the 90's and earlier that didn't have the hex shaped cutout in the center of the pulley. I couldn't find any pictures of this tool design in...

Here's a couple from Amazon that showed up yesterday. I haven't needed a timing light in years. Then when I needed it, I couldn't find my old Craftsman. Hopefully this one will be as reliable. The tach feature is nice. It's already confirmed my suspicion that the tach in my car is reading...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

It took several nights and a couple of weekends to complete, but the suspension is back on my little '94 Civic. All new bushings for both the front and rear. The front lower control arms and strut forks were stripped, cleaned and powder coated. New front upper control arms with camber adjustment...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I've been replacing the suspension and bushing on my budget project car. The rear suspension put up a fight with several bolts seized into the bushings. I haven't had to use the torch in a while. It looks like it's due for a new tip. I broke one bolt which had to be cut and then a nut welded...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

She's an 8 week old Brittany Spaniel mix. She definitely has the Brittany bone structure and walking gait. The person that we got her from named her Minnie because she has 3 big spots on her back in the shape of the Mickey Mouse logo. The wife likes that name, so I think it's going to stick.

Above 1200 Sq/FT CCColtsicehockey Garage Build - 2440sqft storage, shop, and loft

That's a really awesome garage for a great collection of cars. I'm surprised at how long it takes to build something like that. Especially since you're not wasting any time and pulling out all of the stops.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

At the end of May I towed home a non running 94 Civic sedan as a side project. I got it running only to find that it had a blown head gasket. I pulled the motor for a budget, home garage rebuild. It should be ready to go back into the car next weekend. Long term plans will include a K24...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

This past Wednesday I picked up another 5th gen Civic to work on. I always wanted a sedan, and after a few months of searching FB marketplace, this one popped up. It was the cheapest manual transmission DX or LX sedan that I could find with a clean title and a grey interior. The previous owner...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Someone posted a video here on the forums for a DIY smoke machine made from a closet flange. I had to build one for myself.
