    Help with Compressor Pressure Switch

I need help selecting the correct pressure switch to replace the bad one on an air compressor. I picked up an older compressor that had a failing pressure switch. And the switch on the compressor is not factory and also not rated for the compressor - the reason for the failure. 9013FHG12M1X...

    Wilton Vice Help

Decided to go ahead with a complete disassembly. Drilled out the pin. The size was .19x.9 I’ll replace it with a .188 x9 There is no reason it needs to be that tight - it just holds the spindle nut in place.

    Wilton Vice Help

The pin bottoms out in the spindle nut. It can’t be driven through it and the only access to the pin is at the bottom. I can and will leave the spindle in place if it can’t be removed. I’ve already solved the binding issue the seller complained about. I thought it might be old grease but it...

    Wilton Vice Help

I picked up what appears to be a version of a Wilton 643 1/2. I have it all disassembled EXCEPT removing the pin that holds the spindle nut in place. I saw a thread that suggested driving it out from the bottom. This method does not work here. The pin is already bottomed out and has nowhere to...

    17-600 DP Progress

Waterslide decal. I redrew and typeset the plate in Photoshop. Printed it on waterslide decal paper on an inkjet printer. Sprayed it with clear acrylic enamel. Let it dry. Trimmed it, put it in water for a couple minutes. Slid it off onto the plate. Let it dry. Sprayed it with acrylic enamel...

    17-600 DP Progress

I'm making better progress than I expected on the 17-600. Vinegar soaks and a LOT of scrubbing have been key. I still need to tap the repaired hub for replacement handles, refinish the table, clean up the motor and create a decal for the serial plate. Hurricane Irma was bearing down on us here...

    17-600 Quill Guide Key

Thanks but that's not the key I'm asking about. That's the one covered by the clip on the lower spindle. The one I am looking for appears to run in the slot of the quill - #120 in the parts diagram.

    17-600 Quill Guide Key

I'm nearly finished disassembling a 1963 17-600 DP and when I removed the quill I was never able to find the quill guide key. I guess it is missing from this machine. Does anyone have a picture of this piece? Is it just a rectangular piece of metal that rides in the quill slot? Thanks for any help.

I bought the Cutler Hammer 9115 H83 Single Phase. It appeared to be the one I needed. Correct?

I have one of those switches for a single phase on the way to me. I placed a WTB ad on OWWM last night and it has yet to show up.

    Rockwell 17-600 Advice/Help

The pic is very helpful. Thanks. I'm not going to worry about a VFD either. It's overkill for my situation plus the 3 phase motor is no longer involved. On/Off right in front of me is what I'm looking for.

    Rockwell 17-600 Advice/Help

Thanks. Missed that because nothing is indicated as "bearing" in the parts. Being too literal I guess. The spring works but everything seems heavy. Needs a good cleaning, new grease and oil. Looks like I'll be making tools and getting in trouble soon:headscrat

    Rockwell 17-600 Advice/Help

Davefr Are you sure about the number of bearings in my particular machine? According to the schematics and parts list there are only two bearings in the spindle - parts #78(920-04-021-5116) and #80(SP-5360) in the schematic. And while I'm on the bearings, any idea of where I could find the...

    Rockwell 17-600 Advice/Help

454ragtop Thanks for the info and reply. After getting home today I began removing parts to find what was missing or broken. So far I have been pleased with the ease parts are coming off. I plan on attempting to repair the hub - and I am not worried about adding/replacing the head raising...

    Rockwell 17-600 Advice/Help

Thanks. That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Don't hate me for the price - I'm hoping this project doesn't end up like most - costing more than if I'd bought a complete unit. Love working on stuff, though. Something tell me this prees won't look half as good as your first on when...
