This is probably a trivial question, but I've had my car up in the lifted position on my Maxjax for the past 48 hours. I can't lower it because I've got the front suspension off. I have the safety bars in place. Just wanting to know if others have had their car up on a Maxjax for an extended period.

Thanks. She's a keeper. Hard for me to find USA made stuff anymore. Can't find much of anything about the engine stand, though. Done a thorough search on Mr. Internet and haven't been able to find any load rating for the engine stand. I'm sure it should easily handle 600lbs without any problem...

Picked this up yesterday for $60.00. I don't know anything about it other than it looks to be stout and made in the USA. At first, I thought it was a diesel engine stand, but now I'm not sure. I plan to use it on the V12 in my 850i.

Understand, and thanks. Makes sense. Luckily for me, my floor is quite level. I need my arms to go fully to the floor as my 850i is lowered. As it stands right now, if the MaxJax arms were 1/2 off the floor, there wouldn't be enough clearance to position the MaxJax on the car's lifting pads...

Is that a block of UHMW at the bottom of your cylinder lift? I don't have those!

Good investigative work and very informative. So far, mine hasn't leaked a single drop using the supplied MaxJax fittings. If they ever do leak, I'll at least know where to look.

I have an additional 12 foot hose on one side of the maxjax that runs across the ceiling to the hydraulic unit. The other hose has an additional 4 foot hose on it and I mounted the hydraulic unit on the wall. I have had no problems with this setup....

Those are some mighty nice cabinets! I'm assuming you built the doors as well. I could do something similar, but I don't have the tools (nor the experience) to build the cabinet doors - and they're the most expensive part of the cabinets.

I had the same thing done that you did. My columns are bolted down as well. I don't plan on moving them. If I do, I'll have to use my engine lift to pick it up to clear the studs in the floor, but I don't see that being anything more than a minor inconvenience. Mine are positioned at 130 inches...

I think the issue is setting the lift arms in a postion under the car that does not line up with the arm restraints. However, I don't know this until I start to raise the car. I figured there would be enough "give" in the restraints to accomodate "any" position of the lift arms.

Yup, I did all that. Loosened the 4 bolts, made sure it meshed correctly and tightened down all 4 bolts. Maybe I just need to do it again..
