I would totally do this. Done correctly the only time the breaker is off is for servicing, so no problems with shutting 2 ccts off at the same time. And, really, anything to save a few bucks.

It's nothing special. The screw measures at 2.5mm x 14mm. There's no trouble finding that size, if 1 want 100. There is a bit of trouble find 1 or 2.

We had Federal Pacific here in Canada as well. I don't know when it changed to Federal Pioneer. Sadly, Schneider stopped making them a few years ago and introduced the lesser Homeline products.

Federal is the best.

Keep the Federal they are the best. And figuring out some one else's work is always fun. One wire at a time is my advice.

I have a problem with collecting meters. I have 2 old analogue, and 4 digital clamp on meters and 3 voltage/continuity (Wiggy) testers. My favorite among the herd is the cheap Greenlee and the cheap Wiggy. Even though there are 2 Flukes in there.

I found a very expensive Fluke meter above a ceiling one day. The business owner was able to get it back to its proper owner. And I have found various small hand tools throughout the years. I always just claim the because I have left my share of stuff behind.

I have some analogue meters as well. They are great for certain tasks. My everyday clamp meter is a $100 Greenlee that I bought many years ago. I have more expensive meters but that's the one I like. Beware it doesn't take long before you're a collector of old meters.
