    Gedore No. 8 Wrenches

I picked up three Gedore No. 8 DOE wrenches the other day. They have the same opening sized on both ends, one of which is angled different from the other. They are very thin, like tappet wrenches. They are 17, 14, and 12mm. I can't find any on the internet, so i am wondering if anyone here...

    LED Work/Underhood Light

I found this LED worklight at Lowes the other day. It was marked down to $19.97, so I thought I would try it out. My Costco "Snap On" 2,000 lumen light is too bright to use under the hood, but this 700 lumen light gives enough light without the glare. It is compact, light weight, and the...

    Interesting P&C Wrench

I picked up a P&C obstruction wrench the other day. It has a 5/8" 12-point box end with a plain handle. It isn't a cut-down no. 1730 wrench, because the overall length is just one inch shorter than a 1730 and the handle has no taper toward the plain end. It would taper quite a bit if it was a...

    Interesting Air Wrench

I saw this air wrench at a garage sale Friday. The owner said it works well, and the square drive is swapped from one side of the female hex drive to the other for reversing. I have no interest in it, but thought others on the Board might enjoy seeing it. I did not see any maker's marks. It...

    Ken-Tool Lug Wrench

I noticed this lug wrench at the local scrap metal yard the other day. They had put it in the resale area where they sell to artists and such. It is a large cross-type lug wrench for trucks.

Atlas Shaper on Craigslist, Salem OR. http://salem.craigslist.org/tls/4410805978.html See Photo #6. It's cute. Seems to be missing the belt guard. "Comes with everything in photos."

    Craftsman Vise In Oregon

This appears to be a later version of the Craftsman 5195 vise with a fixed base. The base is different from the earlier 5191 (which had 4 inch jaws instead of the 3-1/2" jaws listed in the CL ad) in that it seems to have 3 mounting holes instead of the earlier 4. Anyone know when this was...

    Save This Craftsman Drill Press

Listed in Salem, OR for $125.00 by the Union Gospel Mission store. It even has the slow-speed idler pulley! There is a plywood table added, so no way to look for an "arc of shame", but otherwise doesn't look abused.

Speed Reducer for Rockwell Drill Press

I saw this on Craigslist. It is listed as a speed reducer for a "Rockwell 17" drill press. I have never seen anything like this. It appears to attach directly to the quill and spindle. http://portland.craigslist.org/yam/tls/4200338841.html I have no connection with the seller.

    Service Pickup Tool Mountings

I thought I would share a few photos of mountings I made for tools that I keep in my pickup that has a service body installed. The first is a simple mount for a pipe vise. The vise came from my wife's family tree farm and was lying outside next to an old barn. I bead blasted it and painted...

    HF 44" Cabinet Lubrication?

I bought a Harbor Freight 44" cabinet at the parking lot sale. It has grease on all the ball bearing slides and the casters roll easily, but I haven't loaded it up yet. Has anyone determined if the factory lube is adequate or if I should clean and lube everything with a good grease? :headscrat

Lots of Vises in Bend, OR.

I noticed this Craigslist ad from Bend, Oregon. Lots ("over 25") vises including a Wilton 5" bullet and three anvils. Someone go buy them as I am too far away! http://bend.craigslist.org/tls/4115254148.html

    P&C "100" Series Wrench

I recently bought a P&C 1" combination wrench (P2732) that has a stylized "100" stamped in it. It is obviously a factory marking, and must indicate a series, and I also assume that it is later production. I am not familiar with this and wonder if anyone can enlighten me? :headscrat

    CL Ads Are Sometimes Entertaining

I am amazed at the advertisers on Craigslist so many times! Sometimes you wonder if they need reminding to breathe. :wtf: Take this ad: http://salem.craigslist.org/tls/4012535443.html They are asking $50.00 for the chisel. If you look at the picture, there is a price written in magic...

    My Favorite Combination Wrench

Does everyone have one combination wrench that they just like better than all the rest? Not that it is the best one in the tool box, nor the most expensive, or the prettiest, or the shiniest, or the most expensive, or the newest. One that just seems right when it is in your hand, gets the job...

    Bench Grinder Wheel Quality

I have always used the wheels that came on my bench grinders. I bought most of them new, Craftsman, Skil, and a couple of imports. I never paid attention to the wheels, other than to dress them and stand aside when they start up. Last summer I bought a couple of bench grinders and a big...

    Parker Vise Jaw Pins

I am in the process of replacing the pins that hold the front jaw insert in my Parker 674 1/2 vise. Someone had replaced them with 3/16" cotter pins and the insert was loose on the jaw. I measured the holes by using drill bits and have determined that the pin holes are tapered and .213 at the...

    Carter Carburetor Service Sign

I was driving down the I5 freeway south of Portland, Oregon the other day and passed a pickup towing a car trailer. The trailer had a Ford Ranger pickup truck on it, and in the pickup bed was a large neon sign that said "Carter Carburetor Service" with whitish lettering on a blue background...
