    Baldor 1/2 HP Grinder <$60

Torqueman: A little stunned when I opened your thread and saw the CL pic I was eyeballing a few days ago...looks like we're local competitors for CL listings  . Congrats on your 1st Baldor! Check out this thread on the Baldor I recently picked up in Taylor. If you read between the...

Rockwell 1" Sander Grinder Wheel Repair

Thanks guys! Some good ideas  Think I'll try the intertube idea first. Should be able to fit a regular bicycle tube on the 2" wheels. For the 3 1/2" wheels, my favorite hobby just so happens to be motorbikes. I should have a old tube laying around...

Rockwell 1" Sander Grinder Wheel Repair

My Dad doesn't have use for his Rockwell 1" Sander Grinder anymore so he passed it along to me. I remember using it as a kid and found it to be a handy tool  Anyway, I need to repair the wheels somehow as the pics show. Can the outer elastomer (or whatever it is) just be removed? I...

    Scored a Vintage 8" Baldor Grinder...Questions Though

Outlaw: I tried the 1/4" drive socket again with some light persuasion via a mallet. The socket just fit and was able to remove each of the 4 rods for painting. Slapped some paint on. Shouldn't be long now...

What do you think about these Craftsman ratchets?

I just picked up a 3/8" drive Premium ratchet. It's too early for me to render good/bad but has been good so far.

    Wilton Vise Stationary Jaw Repair

I will definately check out your thread drivesitfar. A stand may be a better option than the bench. It's certainly worth considering. I didn't haggle on the price either. Felt 50 bucks was a good deal. The guy was also very nice, humble and drove an old truck. That goes a long way in my...

    Wilton Vise Stationary Jaw Repair

Well I just picked the vise up. My basement workbench houses a Reed 2C. Even if I don't do the repair on the Wilton, it will be a welcome addition to my garage workbench. Been working on a bench grinder rehab lately. Perhaps the Wilton is up next...or maybe the Reed... Thanks for your help...

    Scored a Vintage 8" Baldor Grinder...Questions Though

Thanks Outlaw. The 1/4" drive socket was a little thick. Some crud/paint in there but is out of the way now. I'll have to try a nut driver this evening. Not critical if I can't get it. Just a detail thing.
