    Scored a Vintage 8" Baldor Grinder...Questions Though

Thanks 91bronc300. The no-load hence higher rpm thing makes sense. Wire-wheeled the rest of the old paint off this evening, cleaned up the switch and other hardware. Looking forward to receiving bluebolts delivery in another day or two. Should be painting this weekend  Silly...

    Craftsman Professional Screwdrivers 6pc set

That's good to know Deskmechanic. My existing set is 30 years old, seen quite a bit of use (and abuse) and haven't had a noticeable wear issue. However, the extra hardness sure won't hurt :)

    Craftsman Professional Screwdrivers 6pc set

Thanks for the heads up! Just ran over to Sears and picked up the 6 pc. set. They feel very comfy in hand. My old Craftsman set isn't uncomfortable, but these are better. And for $19.99 plus I received a $5 coupon the next time spending $35+, you can't go wrong!

Columbian Vise on CL for $65 - What do you Guys Think?

I'd contact him first and ask if he's willing to take $50 for it. Sort of a "if you'll help me with half the gas, I'll take it"

Thanks Drivesitfar. The 2x4's are attached using 1/4"x6" Spax screws from Home Depot (made in USA btw ). I don't have a mortiser as that would have been preferred...especially if I add a shelf one day and load it up with stuff. If that happens, would likely add some angle brackets or...

    Scored a Vintage 8" Baldor Grinder...Questions Though

Thanks WWIIJeep! You have significant knowledge of Baldor grinders (and probably others too). Did you used to work for them, work in a shop that has them, strictly as a hobby, etc? What about other tools?

help! toolbox reeks of old wax polish(smells like vomit)

My dad's small toolbox in the garage has that vomit smell and now I know why! He does have Craftsman screwdrivers in there. After cleanup, what can be used to coat the scredriver handles to prevent the smell from coming back? Sounds like Johnson's Paste Wax is out.
