    Anybody still supporting Craftsman

Well I just supported Craftsman some more by picking up their 3/8 drive Premium ratchet this evening.

    Anybody still supporting Craftsman

I hear ya tjpavlov...it's tough buying 100% American anymore. No doubt my Chevy Trailblazer has some foreign parts on it. I do the best I can to support American companies and workers. With the "hybrid" of parts and assembly, for me it comes down to which product will funnel the highest...

    Help with Drilling Perpendicular Holes.

My Dad has a drill press and was able to make it to their place last night to drill the holes. He also happened to have an old doweling jig laying around and gave it to me. Nice! Anyway, thanks for your help on this one guys.

    Help with Drilling Perpendicular Holes.

Jack; thanks for the offer but yes, the 1/4 " wouldn't work in my case. I very much appreciate your generosity though :)

    Anybody still supporting Craftsman

WE AS A NATION have told Craftsman and so many others to go overseas. Not directly, but each time we buy a cheaper overseas product, U.S. companies have no choice but to compete with that or die. And yet each of us that work do not want a reduction in wages...heck we want a raise! Simple...

    Help with Drilling Perpendicular Holes.

Hard as I try, drilling perpendicular holes free-handed through a 4x4 is difficult. I'm going to be tapping two holes into the end of a 2x4 so the holes through the 4x4 need to come out accurate (perpendicular) on the back side. What type and brand do you guys use? What do you like or dislike...

Hey guys: Just informed the seller of this thread. Thought he may find it entertaining or at the very least to know that it is generating additional exposure to potential buyers :)

Factory Bugatti Vise bid starting at $6,000. Are you serious?

Good thinking drivesitfar. Here's the Ebay description and full size pics: "This is an unrestored Bugatti Factory Vise I have owned for more than thirty years. It was given to a private racer in the U.K. in 1936 and I bought it from the estate. It is in excellent condition and comes with an...

Factory Bugatti Vise bid starting at $6,000. Are you serious?

Very perceptive Outlaw...wasn't sure if anyone would notice ;) The vise bug has sort of bitten me. Picked up a few U.S. "baby" vises in the last week or so...

Factory Bugatti Vise bid starting at $6,000. Are you serious?

The seller has a handful of other items at high $$$$$$$. Most he's had for 30+ years so may be looking to help with retirement. I'm a firm believer in something is worth what someone else is willing to pay. Heck, I've a seen a rifle sell for near $100K and am sure some have gone well over...

Factory Bugatti Vise bid starting at $6,000. Are you serious?

Um yeah sure. I just spent $60 on a used Reed. While it was a great deal, it's the most I've ever spent on a vise. I'd be afraid to breath on a $6,000 vise.

Factory Bugatti Vise bid starting at $6,000. Are you serious?

This is one is hard to believe. But perhaps someone here will pick it up...who knows? It's just a few miles from me. Wouldn't even need to pay for shipping  http://www.ebay.com/itm/BUGATTI-FACTORY-VISE-/301098952890?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item461ae568ba

Reed 3C Bench Vise - Full Restoration

Wow...she's a beauty! Very nice job Polar bear  I have the elusive Reed 2C and am considering a restoration. Been leaning towards a gunmetal gray or gunmetal blue and your color fits the bill. And I drive GM but am digressing... Too many irons (i.e. projects) in the fire so it may...

Vice Finish Preference - Original, Repainted or Bare?

I've seen some beautifully restored vintage vices on this forum. Obviously plenty of originals and some bare ones too (paint removed). At this moment, there's an Ebay auction about to end for a beautifully restored Littlestown 112 and no bids yet. The price seems right...not sure why I don't...

My Dang Eyes! What Brands are easiest to Read?

You and I are in the same boat Revfan. I'm 46 as well as find it very difficult to read my older Craftsman sockets. Like mentioned above, I have a few of the laser-etched Craftsmans and this helps quite a bit. Why didn't I think of the marker/paint idea for the older sockets? Now I have a...
