Even in your area, I would at least get recomendation from the natural gas utility or the propane supplier. One thing I have not seen mentioned in this thread: Does the chemical composition of the local soil have any bearing on the material of the pipe? Some soils may contain different acids or...

So I was working under my 64 Plymouth last night. I went down to the garage this morning, and found I had a visitor. I guess he was trying to help me figure out the oil leak, but I'm glad I wasn't under there when he showed up! :D

Ok to nail to plywood sheathing and not studs?

I used to install vinyl siding, and the manufacturer specified nails at 12" on center or less. Studs are usually 16" on center. I don't have a problem with nailing vinyl to OSB. However, I disagree with using roofing nails! Vinyl siding nails cost a bit more, but are worth it. The heads are...

The house next door to where I grew up had a 1 car garage, and the roof was a solid concrete slab that doubled as a patio. This was on a hilly, sloped lot.

Need advice on stripping paint off brick building

So how does the dustless blasting deal with lead paint dust? It is the lead paint chips and dust getting into the soil around old houses and buildings that cause a lot of the problems and federal law is now addressing it. There is a procedure to abate it legally, and you might get in some...

Rafters set on top of plywood?

Keep this updated and more pics. I have some reservations about what you are describing, but do not want to comment until we see what the guy is attempting. It's not standard construction practice for sure! I hope this is a permitted job and will be inspected.......
