For my very occasional purposes I haven't seen the need to join tracks. I use just a 55" track on 96" material with a finish nail placed beside the track at the midpoint. Make half the cut, reposition track, finish. It is necessary to make three marks, but I don't have to have a short track...

I would stay away from OTC's site Service Solutions Parts. I ordered a bunch of ball joint press adapters because their prices with shipping were about $15 cheaper than anyone else. It took several weeks to fulfill, came from several different warehouses and the shipping was more than quoted...

Please don't make assumptions about how the tool was used. If it had not been used moderately I wouldn't have been saying bad things about it.

I paid extra for a Gearwrench version of the lever-type tool. The first time I used it the forcing screw bent, or perhaps it came that way. I came to the same conclusion about the relative quality.

Have you looked at the Rousseau table system? Full height and semi-mobile. They have a folding version which is router only, and another designed for a small benchtop saw with a router option for the wing.

I agree with DslTrk. And even if the physical balance is even, the visual balance is not. That can have practical effects.

I bought the LiquiVac primarily to use under a vehicle for removing transmission fluid. In this use case, a Mityvac wouldn't work.

I had one and liked it while it worked. But I made the mistake of leaving fluid in it for an extended period, which ruined it. There is a fix which involves taking it apart that is supposed to work, but didn't for me. Now I use a Liqui-Vac and like that form factor better. Plus you can leave...

That Astro kit has a larger, higher quality forcing screws than the others. I've used it once with no problems.

Heavy Honda crankbolt sockets fly in the face of that. The less length, the less possibility for torsion and loss. Likewise with more mass at a given length.

I store mine horizontally in a Rubbermaid-like tote/caddy such as is used to carry cleaning supplies. A long flat box of the same plastic would do the same. It is inefficient space-wise but at least the mess is contained and easy to wipe up.
