the old anode rod...think the real name is sacrificial anode rod-most times its seized in so tight ,you cant get it out...or dont have the room from above to service....oem's should be placing tap's on the side of tank ..not top i have worked on some commercial units that are tapped this...

went to look at some 8-3 building wire (romex), 125 feet was $173 at lowes and i thought ....i only need 75 feet...could only find a 50 feet but the price was $110... i dunno seems like bad math to me... volume discount ?

60/75k input? will the heater be fueled by propane or natural gas.... take your sq feet multiply by 35,if the house is new it should be up to latest codes which call for 2x6 outside walls and better insulation(ny)...60k input at 80% efficiency should work well for you... the 75k input works well...
